GVS Elipse OVAG P100 Replacement Filters — Both S/M & M/L, 1 Pair
The GVS Elipse OVAG P100 is a third-generation multi-gas and dust replacement filter for GVS Elipse and Integra Low Profile OVAG P100 half-face respirators. Built on two GVS-patented technologies — "Encapsulation" of the HESPA filter media enabling a curved low-profile form factor, and graduated carbon that extends gas molecule adsorption path length through more adsorbent material — the result is a filter GVS states is 30% smaller in size and weight than conventional filters while delivering higher gas performance than standard carbon layer designs. Recommended for multi-gas and dust environments including all types of organic gases, inorganic gases, formaldehyde, chemical gases, and particulate dust. Note: ammonia is specifically excluded from the recommended application list — for ammonia environments, a cartridge with explicit ammonia NIOSH approval is required. Universal fit covers both Small/Medium and Medium/Large Elipse and Integra Low Profile facepieces. Sold as 1 pair (2 filters). Browse the full respirator filters and cartridges catalog at WC Safety.

Protection Profile
| Hazard Class | OVAG P100 Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Organic gases and vapors (OV) | Recommended | Solvents, paints, adhesives, fuel vapors, chemical processing vapors |
| Inorganic gases | Recommended | Broad inorganic gas coverage — see manufacturer specs for specific substances and concentrations |
| Formaldehyde | Recommended | Healthcare, laboratory, wood products, embalming, resin manufacturing |
| Chemical gases (general) | Recommended | Chemical production and handling environments — verify specific substances with GVS |
| P100 particulate and dust | P100 — 99.97% efficiency, oil-proof | Dust, fume, mist — all solid and liquid aerosols including oil-based |
| Ammonia (NH3) | Excluded — not recommended | GVS explicitly excludes ammonia from the OVAG P100 application scope — use a cartridge with ammonia NIOSH approval |
GVS recommends this filter for chemical production and handling environments with multi-gas and dust risks. For compliance programs, confirm the specific substance and concentration against GVS's published filter specification and applicable NIOSH approval data. The APF is determined by the facepiece: APF 10 for a half-face respirator, APF 50 for a full-face respirator.
Patented Third-Generation Filter Technologies
| Encapsulation of HESPA Filter Media | GVS's patented Encapsulation technology encases the HESPA (High-Efficiency Sub-micron Particulate Air) filter media in a curved, low-profile form factor while optimizing pleated dust filter resistance. This enables the OVAG P100 to maintain the Elipse platform's signature low-profile swept-back geometry — minimizing forward projection and improving field of view — without sacrificing filter media surface area or efficiency. The curved pleated design also distributes airflow more evenly across the media than flat panel alternatives, contributing to the stated lower breathing resistance. |
| Graduated Carbon Adsorption Layer | The graduated carbon design extends the path length that gas molecules travel through the activated carbon adsorbent, allowing more contact time between the gas molecule and the carbon surface. Standard flat carbon layer designs have a fixed path length that limits the quantity of adsorbent a gas molecule passes through. GVS's graduated approach maximizes gas performance compared to conventional filter elements — particularly relevant for heavier molecular weight organic vapors and chemical gases where carbon path length is a significant factor in adsorption effectiveness. |
| 30% Smaller and Lighter | GVS states the OVAG P100 is 30% smaller in size and weight compared to average filters in its performance class. In a half-face respirator context, smaller, lighter filter cartridges reduce the rotational moment on the facepiece during physical work, decreasing seal fatigue over long shift durations. The reduced bulk also improves compatibility with safety glasses, face shields, and welding visors by reducing the lateral protrusion that can conflict with other PPE components. |
Compatible Facepieces
| Facepiece Series | Sizes |
|---|---|
| GVS Elipse Low Profile OVAG P100 | Small/Medium and Medium/Large |
| GVS Integra Low Profile OVAG P100 | Small/Medium and Medium/Large |
Confirm facepiece model compatibility against GVS's published documentation before use in a compliance program. OSHA 1910.134 requires manufacturer-confirmed facepiece and filter system compatibility. Not compatible with GVS Elipse SPR321 or SPR656/657 series — those facepieces use different filter connections.
GVS Elipse Filter Comparison
| Model | Protection | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| OVAG P100 (this product) | OV, inorganic gases, formaldehyde, chemical gases + P100 (excl. NH3) | Chemical production, multi-gas industrial, formaldehyde environments |
| SPR658 OV/P100 | OV + P100 (NIOSH TC-84A-9377) | Painting, solvents, pesticides, automotive, shipyard (Elipse SPR656/657 facepiece) |
| SPR450 P100 | P100 + nuisance odor | Woodworking, sanding, construction dust where vapor compliance is not required |
