EDITORIAL REVIEW: 4.4/5 β€” WC Safety Review of the Guardian 11200, a single-leg lanyard with a concealed internal shock absorber.
Editorial assessment by the WC Safety Editorial Team, based on published Guardian specifications and category fit. We did not laboratory-test this product.

The Guardian 11200 is a single-leg shock-absorbing lanyard with an internal, concealed shock absorber that gives a clean, snag-resistant profile. It meets ANSI Z359.13-2013, OSHA 1926 Subpart M, and ANSI A10.32, with steel snap hooks, a 130 to 310 lb capacity, and an arrest force at or below 900 lbf. It is the low-profile choice for work around structure that catches a bulkier pack.

Why the Guardian 11200 keeps a low, snag-free profile

An external shock pack is easy to inspect but can catch on rebar, scaffolding, and tight structure. The Guardian 11200 tucks the energy absorber inside the webbing instead, giving a clean, snag-resistant profile that moves through cluttered work more freely. It still meets ANSI Z359.13-2013, OSHA 1926 Subpart M, and ANSI A10.32, with steel snap hooks and an arrest force held to 900 lbf or less for a 220-lb test load. It is the internal-absorber counterpart to Guardian's external-pack 01220. As lanyards go, this is the low-profile single-leg pick, and the best fall protection lanyards guide and fall protection equipment guide cover how the pieces fit. It gets out of the way while it protects.

Safety first: the listing states this lanyard meets OSHA 29 CFR 1926.502(d) requirements as part of a complete personal fall arrest system β€” pair it with a compatible full-body harness at the dorsal D-ring and a rated anchor, since the 5,000 lb tensile strength does not replace a properly rated anchor. The concealed absorber is harder to inspect than an external pack, so follow the manufacturer's inspection procedure and retire it after any fall. Calculate fall clearance β€” free fall, deployed absorber length, D-ring height, and a safety factor. Confirm requirements with the OSHA 1926 fall protection guide.

What the Guardian 11200 listing documents

From the published specs: a single-leg design; an internal, concealed shock absorber; steel snap hooks; a 130 to 310 lb capacity; 5,000 lb tensile strength; an arrest force at or below 900 lbf; and ANSI Z359.13-2013 / OSHA 1926 Subpart M / ANSI A10.32 compliance. These are true internal shock lanyard credentials and a genuine single leg lanyard β€” a certified shock absorbing lanyard with a snag-resistant profile.

How the Guardian 11200 compares to other lanyards

For the external-pack Guardian, the Guardian 01220; for a dual-leg Guardian, the Guardian 01230; for 100% tie-off, the twin-leg 3M Protecta PRO Twin-Leg or heavyweight FallTech Ironman; and for a slim single-leg, the Elk River NoPac. The safety harness guide pairs the harness.

Building a complete fall arrest system

A lanyard is one of three parts. For the harness, the full-body harnesses collection; for anchors, the anchor points collection and roof anchors guide; for complete sets, the fall protection kits collection and kits guide; and the full fall protection collection, the lanyards and lifelines collection, plus self-retracting lifelines span every category.

Where it fits by job and crew orders

The Guardian 11200 suits construction, roofing, and industrial crews working around tight or cluttered structure who want a snag-resistant single-leg lanyard β€” compare tool-lanyard options in the tool lanyards collection for dropped-object control. Keep the worker-plus-tools weight in the rated range, inspect the concealed absorber per the manufacturer's procedure, and retire it after any fall. For crew orders, quantity purchasing runs through a free Amazon Business account β€” volume pricing, PO numbers at checkout, and tax-exempt eligibility for qualifying organizations, with the walkthrough linked in our footer.

Will save your life
Bought this for a harness for some at home roof repairs. This thing is heavy duty and is sewn such that if I were to take a fall, there is redundancy in the fabric so it would lessen the force as my fall was broken. I thankfully haven't had a chance to "test" it out, but the build quality is superb. A Must for anyone working at heights. The hooks themselves are secure, but easy to clip onto surfaces/harness. They have a simple design, which is great if you are working with thick gloves, or like to minimize the time you are not clipped into an anchor point.

Good product for bucket truck work.
This product works as intended and the materials have lasted with use.Pro's: The material is durable and will last as long as you don't abuse it. It is the perfect length if your working out of a bucket truck. It seems pretty resistant to corrosion and will last with minimal care.Cons: if your working out of an aerial lift or scissor lift in some cases it may be too short to effectively love around.

Pretty good fall arrest strap for working higher than 15 feet.
6 feet of lanyard to protect yourself if you fall from a high place, part of it is crimped and will unravel only when subjected to the force of your weight in freefall, to slow you down sort of like a bungee cord.Useless if you fall from less than 15 feet, but a life-saver if you fall from higher than that.To open the clips you have to depress the safety lock on the back while simultaneously pressing the latch open. Can be a bit of a nuissance but trust me you don't want them to accidentally pop open by themselves.Seems to be made of sturdy materials, though thankfully I haven't had to put it to a real test yet.Pro tip: clip one end onto each hip and toss the middle of the strap over the back of your neck so you can climb stairs and ladders without tripping yourself.

Works Well for Lifts!
I got this for work, as I occasionally use lifts. The ones provided seem janky and mistreated. So I got a new one for my own personal use.I keep it in a 5 gal bucket with my harness. I keep a couple desiccant packs to keep the moisture out.

This is a great positional lanyard for the money
I really like the stuffiness and weight of this lanyard. It was never too heavy to handle. Only complaint is it may be too long for shorter people 5'9" like me. It would swing into my footpath and almost trip me. This is a positional lanyard as well which is not meant to be used while moving along larger pipe grids. Get a double lanyard with wider hooks to be able to hook on to anything while moving.

The bucket is a great idea!!! The harnass was easy to use and made me feel safe!
When I was looking for a harness, I asked around a bit at work and a few people mentioned Guardian's bucket. What a great idea. I used the harness and the rope to get me safety secured on the roof and then used the bucket to hoist my tools up. Then when I was done, packed it all back away in the bucket with top. This way, it should all be there next time I need it. If it was stored separate, I would probably misplace something. Just a great idea!
