Editorial assessment by Steven Eaton, WC Safety editor, based on published Ergodyne specifications and category fit. We did not laboratory-test this product.

The Ergodyne ProFlex 7251 is a fully nitrile-coated cut-resistant glove — nitrile on both palm and dorsal — for all-angle cut, abrasion, and liquid resistance in wet and oily environments and container handling. It carries an ANSI/ISEA 105 cut-resistant liner on a 13-gauge shell; confirm the exact cut level on the listing.

Why the Ergodyne ProFlex 7251 covers the whole hand

Palm-coated gloves leave the back of the hand exposed — a problem when you are reaching into containers or handling sharp, wet stock that contacts every surface. The 7251 coats the whole glove in nitrile, palm and dorsal, so cut, abrasion, and liquids meet resistance from all directions, and grip holds in wet, oily, or greasy conditions where palm-only gloves slip. The cut-resistant liner backs it up on a lightweight 13-gauge shell. As cut-resistant gloves go, this is the wet, all-angle pick, and the best cut-resistant gloves guide and complete cut-glove guide cover how to match glove to task. It protects the whole hand, not just the grip side.

Safety first: the full nitrile coat resists water and oil, but the 7251 is not a rated chemical glove and is not rated for a chemical splash hazard. For solvents, acids, or degreasers, wear dedicated chemical-resistant gloves selected by breakthrough time, and see the chemical-resistant gloves guide. The listing states an ANSI/ISEA 105 cut liner but does not give a numeric cut level, so confirm the A-rating on the listing and use the ANSI A1-A9 cut-level guide to match it to your hazard. Cut resistance is not puncture resistance. Replace worn gloves.

What the Ergodyne ProFlex 7251 listing documents

From the published specs: a fully coated nitrile glove — palm and dorsal; an ANSI/ISEA 105 cut-resistant liner (level not specified); wet and oily grip; and a lightweight 13-gauge shell. These are true fully coated nitrile gloves credentials and a genuine set of wet grip cut gloves — an all-around pair of full coverage work gloves.

How the Ergodyne ProFlex 7251 compares to other gloves

For palm-coated cut gloves, the foam-nitrile Ergodyne ProFlex 7031 or sandy-nitrile 7024; for the highest A7 cut, the 7072; for a hi-vis A2 nitrile, the 7022; and for a waterproof winter glove, the 7551. The nitrile-vs-PU coating guide explains the trade-offs.

Choosing the right glove for the hazard

Cut level and coating are separate decisions. For coating and cut families, browse the nitrile gloves and material-handling gloves collections; for impact hazards, the impact-resistant gloves and cut-vs-impact guide; and for the mechanic's bench, the mechanics cut-glove guide. Leather options live in the leather work gloves collection.

Where it fits by job and team orders

The 7251 suits wet and oily material handlers, container-operation crews, and fabricators whose whole hand contacts sharp, slick stock. Confirm the cut level for your hazard, keep a rated chemical glove for solvent tasks, size the glove snug for wet grip, and replace worn pairs promptly once the coating cracks. For a deeper look at how nitrile coatings behave across conditions, the complete nitrile-glove guide is a useful reference when standardizing a wet-handling glove across a crew. Frequently asked questions

What is the Ergodyne ProFlex 7251?

A fully nitrile-coated cut-resistant glove - nitrile on both palm and dorsal - for all-angle cut, abrasion, and liquid resistance. It carries an ANSI/ISEA 105 cut-resistant liner on a 13-gauge shell for wet or oily handling and container work.

What does fully coated mean?

Unlike palm-only coated gloves, the 7251 applies nitrile to both the palm and the back of the hand, so it resists cut and liquids from all directions - useful where both surfaces of the hand contact sharp or wet materials.

What cut level is it?

The listing states an ANSI/ISEA 105 cut-resistant liner but does not specify the exact cut level. Confirm the A-rating on the product listing before selecting it for a specific cut hazard.

Why choose it for wet or oily work?

The full nitrile coating maintains grip in wet, oily, or greasy conditions where palm-only gloves lose effectiveness, and it keeps liquids off the whole hand rather than just the palm.

Does full nitrile make it a chemical glove?

No - the full coating resists water and oil but the 7251 is not a rated chemical-resistant glove. It is not rated for a chemical splash hazard, so for solvents or acids use dedicated chemical-resistant gloves selected by breakthrough time.

What is the shell?

A lightweight 13-gauge shell that keeps dexterity and comfort while providing all-around hand protection.

What work is it for?

Wet or oily material handling, container operations, and metal fabrication where both hand surfaces contact sharp materials and grip must hold in slick conditions.

How is it different from palm-only ProFlex gloves?

Palm-coated gloves protect and grip only at the palm; the 7251's full coat adds back-of-hand cut, abrasion, and liquid resistance for jobs where the whole hand is exposed.

What sizes are available?

The listing shows Small, Medium, Large, X-Large, and 2X-Large. A snug fit preserves grip and dexterity in wet handling.

Do cut gloves stop punctures?

Cut resistance and puncture resistance are different ratings. The cut liner covers slicing cut forces, not punctures; choose a puncture- or needle-rated glove for those hazards.

When should I replace them?

Replace the gloves when the nitrile coating cracks or wears through, the liner shows cuts or holes, or grip and fit degrade - worn gloves no longer deliver their rated protection.

Strong!
These are nice strong gloves. We had previously purchased a large box of regular nitrile gloves for cleaning, cooking and touching gross raw stuff, etc. They worked great for a lot of purposes, but rip and tear easily if you are doing anything more strenuous with them like cleaning vigorously or, in my case, painting and furniture restoration. These gloves are a great compromise between those flimsy kind, and big thick work gloves that can hinder your ability to perform more delicate tasks.

Nice quality work gloves but would think about sizing up, especially for small
I got these gloves so I can use them when I do work on my car.I like that they are oil resistance and I can't stand when my gloves gets oiled or using disposable gloves (hate throwing away all of these gloves)they appear to be of high quality which I like. However, the small seems small for my hand. I've purchased other work gloves in small size and they fit snug but fits but this one, I could barely get my whole hand in there. I did but it took a lot of work so not sure how much I can use these given the small size.Besides the fit, these a good quality work gloves to use.

Somewhat stiff and definitely size small
These gloves are almost perfect. They're true to size (I ordered a small and they FIT my small hands without floppy fingertips!). They're waterproof up to the fabric at the wrist. And they're tough. The only drawback is that since the coating is thick, they are fairly stiff. I'm hoping with more use they'll become flexible without losing any protection. They're not thermal as far as I can tell so aren't very warm. And while they're cut resistant as seen with shears, they are not impenetrable. Thorns from thorn bushes still got me, unfortunately. But for the price, they're excellent and will get me through at least one season of yard work for sure. They also have a great grip on tools.

Fingers are long enough!
My husband often has trouble with the fingers being too short with gloves. He has rather long fingers, but slender hands. These gloves fit just right for him. If you have wide hands, you'll want to size up. They seem very high quality, although he has not tested the cut resistance (and hopefully won't). They are comfortable and snug, but not too tight. They are a bit pricey, though.

Good quality gloves, just size up
These gloves are good quality and seem durable. The touchscreen feature works well, which is super handy when you don’t want to take them off. I ordered a Large, but they run a bit small on me (for reference, I usually wear a Medium in t-shirts), so I’d say size up if you’re between sizes. Overall, they fit nicely once on and feel well made — definitely good value for the money.

My new go-to gloves!
These Ergodyne ProFlex 7251 work gloves are my new go-to gloves for yard work. They strike an excellent balance between durability and flexibility, with a thin yet sturdy, stretchy fabric that fits snugly (check sizing carefully—I ordered Large which is what I normally get, but I could have gotten XL and been ok). We have a large wooded lot that requires pretty constant maintenance. Being a drummer I’m particularly careful about damaging my hands – and I’m not exactly pro-level with a chainsaw yet!I really like that there is a little bit of extra padding in the webbing between the thumb and forefinger – just enough to help prevent blisters from rakes. The gloves I have been using I end up doubling up – these I won’t need to. They have an outstanding grip, shrugging off oil and water to keep hands dry when handling damp soil, spills, or slick tools. Love the touchscreen compatibility. My stage in-ear monitors double as hearing protection (leaf blowers a LOUD, yo!) so these gloves let me operate my phone to jam out without removing the gloves, which is a huge time-saver. They’re lightweight, breathable, and lack the heavy plastic smell of cheaper gloves, making them comfortable for extended wear. For the price, these gloves deliver impressive protection, dexterity, and durability. I expect I’ll be purchasing more of these, but in a slightly larger size.

Some of the best work gloves I've ever used
Really, what the title says, they're very good.I'm a solid, bigish 2x hand size, and the 2x size fit me well, they're durable, completely coated and so far haven't torn out where gloves tend to tear out and fail for me (I'm on the wide side of 2x, and the firs thing that usually goes for me is the area between the thumb and palm from being constantly pulled tight.Probably the biggest negative is that they're pricey for this style of glove, but compared to a pair of Mechanix Wear or similar gloves, they're inexpensive. I'll probably get more when these wear out.

They’re okay
These run small. I got a medium because I got small hands and they’re tight. Hard to get on and off tight. It’s a bit hard to bend and flex my fingers. So far I’ve handled metal products in my metal shop without issue. Not incredibly comfortable because of how tight they are. Size up with these for sure. As for waterproof , I’m not gonna not really. I got them wet and sweaty. I wouldn’t buy these again.

Great Protection, Watch Sizing
I used these gloves for maintenance & disaster relief. These gloves are durable, comfortable, have a great grip, and are weather-resistant. I liked that they are cut-resistant (Medium cut protection - A5). They allow full dexterity to perform any task.I was able to perform some cell phone touchscreen operations, but not the more delicate options. Also, they were a little tight on the palm, but the fingers fit well. Also,

Solid Gloves, But Mind the Sizing
I usually wear Mechanix gloves in Medium and they fit me perfectly, so I ordered the Ergodyne ProFlex nitrile gloves in Medium expecting the same. Unfortunately, these felt more like a Small—the fingers were slightly elongated, but the palm was noticeably tight. If I had gone with a Large, I think the fit would’ve been spot on.That said, these still seem like a solid pair of work gloves. The full nitrile coating gives excellent grip and feels nice and thick—definitely durable enough for various tasks. I also appreciated the compact, no-frills packaging. In the end, I’ll be passing these on to my mother since they fit her smaller hands much better. If the sizing were more accurate, I’d probably bump this up to 5 stars. Just be sure to size up if you're on the fence.
