Rating shown is the Amazon customer rating at the time of writing, not our own score. Specification-based assessment by Steven Eaton, WC Safety Editorial, from the published KEEN Utility listing and ASTM F2413 protective-footwear requirements. We have not hands-on or laboratory-tested this product.
The Louisville rounds out KEEN's set as the 6-inch steel-toe waterproof with the classic jobsite cut β sibling to the Pittsburgh with its own last and trim. Between the two it is a fit-and-feel decision on the same protection package.

Where this model fits
Like the Pittsburgh it serves general construction and outdoor trades in wet conditions; choose between them by which last matches your foot at the store or the return window. The mids in this family serve the mobility case instead.
Category guidance lives in our safety-boot selection guide and the steel vs composite toe comparison; ASTM F2413 markings are decoded in the footwear ratings reference.
How we assess this product
WC Safety is an independent PPE review and research site. We do not sell, ship, or stock anything, and we have not physically tested this work boot. What we do is read the published KEEN Utility specification against the governing standard, flag what the listing does and does not state, and place the product in context next to the alternatives we cover. Where a number matters for compliance - a rating, a class, a temperature, a voltage - we take it from the manufacturer listing and expect you to confirm it on the live listing before you buy. The star rating on this page belongs to Amazon customers, not to us. Read more across our hand protection and hard hats coverage.

What to check before you buy
- ASTM F2413 markings
- The marking on the boot tells you what it is rated for - impact and compression (I/C 75 or 50), plus optional ratings such as metatarsal (Mt), electrical hazard (EH), static dissipative (SD) or puncture resistance (PR).
- Toe cap material
- Steel is thinnest for a given protection level; composite is non-metallic and does not conduct temperature or trip metal detectors; alloy sits between the two.
- Electrical hazard vs. static dissipative
- EH insulates the wearer from live circuits; SD does the opposite and bleeds static to ground. They are not interchangeable and choosing wrongly removes the protection you wanted.
- Fit over the whole shift
- Feet swell during a shift. A boot fitted tight first thing in the morning is a different boot by mid-afternoon.

Frequently asked questions
Louisville or Pittsburgh β what actually differs?
Fit geometry and trim on the same class of protection: 6-inch waterproof leather over a steel cap. With ratings identical, foot shape decides β the boot that fits with work socks and no cap contact is the right one.
Does 'waterproof' cover all-day standing water?
It covers weather and ground wet, not immersion: water over the collar or all-day standing puddles call for wellingtons or overboots. Membranes also depend on cared-for leather β condition before it cracks.
What retires this boot?
Cap compromise, membrane failure, or tread worn past its geometry β whichever comes first. Leather scuffs are cosmetic; a cracked toe cap or a sole worn slick is structural and final.
