WC Safety Editorial Pick: The MF-300 is WC Safety's pick for latex users who prioritize tactile sensitivity and comfort in food-contact and wet-work environments—a premium natural rubber latex option in a nitrile-dominant collection.

For a full performance breakdown, sizing analysis, and comparison against alternatives, see our Ansell Microflex Diamond Grip MF-300 Latex Gloves in-depth review published by the WC Safety editorial team.

The Ansell Microflex MF-300 is a natural rubber latex glove, not nitrile—an important distinction for buyers browsing the nitrile collection. At 4.7 mil with Diamond Grip texture, it is chosen by workers and clinical professionals who specifically prefer latex for its superior elasticity, tactile sensitivity, and comfort over extended wear periods, and who do not have latex sensitivity concerns.

Food handling operations where latex is acceptable and tactile sensitivity is critical (butchery, sushi preparation, fine food work), clinical and dental environments where latex glove feel is preferred by practitioners, and laboratory settings where latex compatibility with tasks and reagents has been confirmed. Not appropriate for use with latex-allergic patients or workers.

Compatibility and Application

Natural rubber latex is incompatible with many organic solvents and oils—chemical resistance is lower than comparable nitrile. Before selecting MF-300 for any chemical-contact application, verify compatibility against Ansell's chemical resistance chart. For latex-allergic environments, see Ansell SU-690 Violet Nitrile or TouchNTuff 93-800. For a broader selection, browse the complete nitrile gloves collection at WC Safety, organized by thickness, brand, and intended use.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Natural rubber latex delivers superior elasticity and tactile sensitivity versus nitrile at equivalent gauge
  • Diamond Grip texture provides grip on wet food-contact surfaces
  • 4.7 mil gauge balances durability with the dexterity needed for food preparation and clinical work
  • Ansell manufacturing quality for consistent batch-to-batch performance

Cons

  • Natural rubber latex — NOT appropriate for latex-allergic patients, workers, or facilities with latex-free policies
  • Lower chemical resistance than nitrile at equivalent gauge for oils and organic solvents

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Ansell MF-300 a nitrile glove?

No. The MF-300 is made from natural rubber latex, not nitrile. It appears in the WC Safety nitrile gloves collection as an alternative, but buyers who need nitrile specifically (latex-free environments) should select a nitrile product from this collection.

Can I use the MF-300 with latex-allergic patients?

No. The MF-300 is natural rubber latex and must not be used when serving latex-allergic patients or in facilities with latex-free PPE policies. Use a nitrile alternative.

Does the MF-300 qualify for food-safe use?

Yes. Natural rubber latex powder-free gloves are generally approved for food contact. Verify the specific regulatory standard (FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 or similar) for your jurisdiction and food type.

What sizes does the Ansell MF-300 come in?

XS, S, M, L, XL. Confirm sizing before bulk ordering—Ansell latex gloves often fit differently from nitrile options at the same nominal size.

How does latex compare to nitrile for donning speed?

Latex is more elastic than nitrile, making it generally easier and faster to don—particularly for workers who wear gloves continuously throughout a shift.

Can I order the MF-300 in a full case?

Yes. Cases are available through Amazon. Check the Amazon listing for current case quantities and per-box pricing.

What is the shelf life of the MF-300?

Natural rubber latex gloves have a shelf life of 3 to 5 years under proper storage conditions: cool, dry, away from UV and ozone.

Does latex degrade faster than nitrile in storage?

Latex is more susceptible to ozone degradation than nitrile. Store away from motors, fluorescent lights, and other ozone-generating equipment. Both materials should be stored in sealed packaging away from UV light.

Can I use the MF-300 for clinical or dental procedures?

Yes. The MF-300 is manufactured to medical glove standards and is appropriate for clinical examination and dental procedures where latex is accepted.

Does the Diamond Grip texture work on slippery food surfaces?

Yes. The Diamond Grip pattern is specifically designed for grip on wet and slippery food surfaces—fish, poultry, wet produce, and similar food-prep applications.

Are returned or opened boxes accepted?

Returns are handled through Amazon's return policy. Check the policy at the time of purchase. Opened boxes of disposable gloves are generally not returnable for hygiene reasons.

What should I do if I suspect a latex allergy reaction during use?

Remove the gloves immediately, wash hands with soap and water, and seek medical evaluation. Latex allergy reactions range from contact dermatitis (Type IV) to anaphylaxis (Type I). Any systemic reaction (difficulty breathing, hives) requires emergency medical attention.

Best Latex Gloves
Fast shipping. Good quality Latex examination gloves (heavy duty thickness). Great value. I use these for all kinds of small engine repair work. Fit is great and the durability is better than other brands. If you need Latex gloves, this is the brand to choose. I've tried other brands and they just don't hold up like the Ansell Microflex do.

Good Quality Microflex 300 XL Latex Gloves
I'm not a medical professional, so I'm no expert on daily wear of gloves. But I have had some biohazard training, and I researched gloves carefully before ordering these. I'm pleased with these, and here's my review:1. These are XL size (each glove size in this model has its own separate Amazon listing). They fit my average-large hands very comfortably and with just enough room to spare--I'm 6.0" and 180 lbs and I normally wear a Large in work gloves or dress leather gloves, and I am glad I took the advice to order one size larger to XL. Good move.MOST ADULT AMERICAN MALES ARE SIZE XL. Police, EMTs and my own biohazard training agree on that. For most men, it's worth it to get XL size. These are powderless (powder can become a vehicle for both particles and viruses/bacteria) which is nice. They don't need lubrication. They go on easily. There's a very slight texture to the fingertips, you can barely see it yet it's helpful in gripping things. The glove extends about 2 inches up your wrist, which is an improvement over those Dollar Store 10-packs.2. I can't vouch for durability yet but these seem rugged. My past experience has mostly been with cheapo 10-pack gloves intended for painting or household/shop chores, and these Microflex are clearly thicker and more durable than the cheapo's.Other listing's specs indicate that these are 6.1 micron thick, but this listing specs do not say and I don't see it on the box. These XL also allow just enough room for your hands to flex a little inside without being 'skin tight'--and that's a good thing. Gloves stretched skin tight are much more likely to rip and tear when you don't want them to. These XL Microflex have just enough looseness. Trust me, you'll appreciate that when you get them on.3. Ivory, almost yellowish color. Translucent but not transparently see-through like the thinner cheapo gloves. Easy to see any kind of chemical (blood, body fluids) on the glove. These are comfortable to wear for some time (an hour or more) which is where a looser fit is an advantage again. These are latex.4. These are great for yard work, painting, working with greasy tools like autos/bike chains, messing around with chemicals etc. You can wash dishes in these (it's the scrubber that puts wear on any dishwashing glove). For my household purposes these are fine. At $15 delivered for 100, I'd have paid $10 plus tax for 10 packs of 10 each at a dollar store, and considering the huge quality upgrade, I think $15 for these is more than reasonable. I'm tossing sets of these, in sandwich size ziplock bags, into all my First Aid kits (replacing those Dollar Store cheapo gloves I was using before).I'm satisfied. No complaints. For those primarily interested in medical/virus/influenza/Ebola protection, check out the Microflex 375's. Thicker (6.1 ML) than the 300's and cost not that much more. I'm not equipped to evaluate one glove over another for World War Z, but thicker is obviously better.I didn't buy these specifically for an Ebola Apocalypse, but I'm glad I have these because the SARS episode proved that basic supplies like these (and masks, like the 3M 8000's) become sold out and unavailable very fast. If a situation develops where average citizens are choosing (or are advised) to wear gloves to the ATM or gas pump or shopping cart to minimize transmission risk, I'll be glad to have these on hand--pardon the pun.Good gloves for the non-professional. Good value at $15 delivered. Shelf life is many years. I'm pleased.Hope this is helpful. Happy trails and stay safe, everybody.

Technician's Great Choice
Have bought these for about 9 years now for everyday wrenching. They hold up and even when caught sometimes on sharp surfaces they stretch instead of just ripping. They fit great on your hands. The quality for the most part is great. I re-use the same gloves sometimes throughout the day and they take the abuse from doing suspension, brake and engine work. Only reason I dont have it at 5 stars is because lately the last 6 boxes or so I'm not sure what's going on, but they've been stuck on the inside of the fingers or thumb. When trying to un-stick it in order to put them on they just rip at times or have small holes. Haven't had that issue in the 9 years I've bought them till about the last 6 orders or so. Don't know if it's my luck or the change in design material?I'd still recommend them, but I did want to put that warning out there. Hopefully they correct it soon

Good gloves for automotive work.
Great gloves that don't tear easily if at all. Not too thick for comfort and dexterity, but also very durable. Perfect for cleaning and automotive work. Size is accurate also. Highly recommended.

Tearing gloves
Im a huge fan of these gloves, but opening the second box(1000 count) has been disappointing. About 20 gloves have ripped from me trying to unstick them from themselves no matter how careful I have been and still have 30 left in the box. Maybe this box is a one off, but could see it being an issue if the storage it was in was excessively hot.
