Ergodyne ProFlex 7001 Nitrile-Coated Work Gloves (ANSI A1, Abrasion 5) Overview

The Ergodyne 7001 ProFlex nitrile-coated glove is a lightweight, dexterity-first work glove built for high-volume handling, assembly and general maintenance. A foam-nitrile coating over the palm and fingertips delivers reliable dry and lightly oily grip while the breathable knit back keeps hands cool through long shifts. It carries an ANSI/ISEA 105 A1 cut rating and an abrasion level 5, placing it among low-cut, high-tactility gloves rather than heavy cut-protection styles. As ANSI A1 cut-resistant gloves, these abrasion-resistant work gloves use foam nitrile palm gloves construction for grip and serve as general-duty assembly gloves in the Ergodyne ProFlex gloves range.

Choose the 7001 when the job calls for feel and throughput over maximum cut defense: parts picking, packaging, light assembly, warehouse and shop work. Because A1 is the entry point on the ANSI/ISEA 105 cut levels explained scale, step up to higher-rated cut-resistant gloves for blade, glass or sheet-metal exposure. For task-matched selection across the family, see our guide on how to choose cut-resistant gloves by ANSI level. This is a coated knit work glove and is not a food-safe or medical-exam glove.

What Ergodyne Is Built For

Task Fit Buyer guidance
Light assembly & parts handling Excellent Foam-nitrile palm gives the tactile feedback needed for small fasteners and fine placement work.
Warehouse & material handling Excellent Abrasion level 5 holds up to cartons, pallets and totes; pair with our material-handling lineup for high-throughput lines.
General maintenance & shop work Good Handles dry and lightly oily grip; not intended for solvent or chemical immersion.
Blade, glass or sheet-metal handling Not recommended A1 is a low cut rating; move up to A4-A9 cut gloves for sharp-edge exposure.
Cold-weather outdoor work Not recommended Uninsulated; choose the insulated 7501 or 7401 for winter conditions.

Cut and impact gloves reduce injury risk but do not make a task safe. Match the ANSI/ISEA 105 cut level (A1–A9) and ANSI/ISEA 138 impact level to the real hazard, inspect each pair for wear before use, and follow your site's hand-protection program. No glove is cut-proof or puncture-proof β€” keep hands clear of moving blades and pinch points. Because the palm coating is nitrile, these are latex-free β€” a good option if you have a latex allergy. See ANSI/ISEA 105 cut levels explained.

Pros & Cons

Pros
  • Foam-nitrile palm coating for dependable dry and lightly oily grip
  • Abrasion level 5 stands up to repetitive carton and tote handling
  • Lightweight, breathable knit back for all-shift comfort and dexterity
  • Snug 13-gauge fit supports fine motor tasks and small parts
  • Machine-washable for extended reuse and lower cost-per-wear
Cons
  • ANSI A1 cut rating only β€” not for blade, glass or sheet-metal exposure
  • Palm-coated, not fully dipped β€” not for liquid or chemical immersion
  • Uninsulated β€” not suited to cold-weather work
  • Not a food-safe or medical-exam glove

How It Compares

Within the ProFlex coated family, the 7001 is the lightest-duty, highest-dexterity option. The ergodyne proflex 7021 hi vis nitrile work glove steps cut protection up to A3 and adds hi-vis coloring for roadside and low-light tasks, while the insulated 7501 and ergodyne proflex 7401 latex coated winter glove trade some dexterity for cold-weather warmth. Stay with the 7001 when grip and feel matter most; size up the rating for sharper-edge work using our nitrile gloves selection.

Frequently Asked Questions

What cut level is the Ergodyne 7001 ProFlex glove?

It is rated ANSI/ISEA 105 A1, the entry level on the A1-A9 cut scale. See the ANSI/ISEA 105 cut levels explained guide to confirm A1 matches your hazard.

Is the 7001 strong enough for blade or sheet-metal handling?

No. A1 is a low cut rating intended for general handling. For blades, glass or sheet metal, choose higher-rated cut-resistant gloves in the A4-A9 range.

What is the abrasion rating?

The 7001 carries an abrasion level 5, which holds up well to repetitive carton, pallet and tote handling in warehouse and assembly settings.

Is this a food-safe or medical-exam glove?

No. The 7001 is a coated industrial work glove and is not certified as a food-safe or medical-exam glove. Use it for assembly, material handling and general-duty tasks.

What kind of grip does the coating provide?

The foam-nitrile palm and fingertip coating delivers dependable grip on dry and lightly oily parts. For wet-grip or immersion work, choose a fully dipped glove instead.

Can I use the 7001 with oils or chemicals?

It handles incidental light oils but is palm-coated, not fully dipped, so it is not for liquid or chemical immersion. For solvent work see our chemical-resistant gloves.

What sizes are available?

The 7001 runs S through XXL. Measure your hand against the glove size chart for a snug, dexterity-preserving fit.

How do I choose between the 7001 and a higher cut rating?

Match the rating to your sharpest hazard. Our how to choose cut-resistant gloves by ANSI level guide walks through task-by-task selection.

Is the 7001 a good material-handling glove?

Yes. The breathable knit and abrasion-level-5 palm make it well suited to high-volume material-handling gloves tasks where grip and throughput matter.

Does the 7001 have an ANSI impact rating?

No, it is not an impact-rated glove. For back-of-hand impact protection, see ANSI/ISEA 138 styles in our impact-resistant gloves collection and the impact gloves ANSI/ISEA 138 reference.

Is the 7001 machine washable?

Yes, it is machine washable, which extends reuse and lowers cost-per-wear across high-volume operations. Air-dry to preserve the coating.

Where can I learn how nitrile coatings perform?

Our nitrile gloves guide and the broader nitrile gloves selection explain coating types and how they affect grip and durability.

just "ok"
these have a sort of weird texture and the fingertips are so bubbly and round that they don't feel right. but they're durable, grippy, and they fit well otherwise

Solid Nitrile work glove.
These are solid and offer great dexterity. The touchscreen did not make friends with my iPhone 13. Locked myself out of my phone while trying to use it. Twice, first for 1 minute second time immediately after for 5 minutes. Other then that these are awesome! Absolutely will purchase these again. Ergodyne always delivers with work gear.Update: 11/6/22 I have ordered these two more times, something was definitely up with the first pair the last two work flawlessly with my iPhone! Great gloves! I use them while gig working.
