Cut Resistant Ergodyne Gray Nitrile Coated ProFlex Safety Gloves Work Gloves
EDITORIAL REVIEW: 4.5/5 β€” WC Safety Review of the Ergodyne ProFlex 7043, a nitrile-coated work glove with ANSI-rated cut resistance and a durable grip palm.
Editorial assessment by Steven Eaton, WC Safety editor, based on published Ergodyne specifications and category fit. We did not laboratory-test this product.

The Ergodyne ProFlex 7043 is a nitrile-coated work glove with ANSI-rated cut resistance for general industrial handling. Its gray nitrile palm provides grip in dry and lightly oily conditions and longer wear life than foam-nitrile alternatives, while a lightweight 13-gauge cut-resistant shell keeps dexterity for assembly, packaging, and part handling β€” with a knitted wrist cuff that secures the fit and helps exclude debris.

Why the Ergodyne ProFlex 7043 balances grip and cut protection

General handling wants two things from a glove: a palm that grips and a shell that resists the odd edge β€” without turning into a stiff, sweaty mitt. The 7043 hits that middle: a durable gray nitrile palm coating for grip and wear over a lightweight 13-gauge cut-resistant shell, so it stays dexterous for assembly and packaging while still handling sharp edges. As nitrile-coated gloves go, this is the grip-and-wear workhorse. The nitrile-vs-PU coating guide and the best cut-resistant gloves guide cover how coatings and cut levels pair up.

Safety first: confirm the specific ANSI cut level on the listing before assigning the 7043 to a high-cut task β€” it states ANSI-rated cut resistance, and the ANSI scale measures blade cut only, not punctures or needles. Its nitrile palm coating adds grip and incidental resistance but is not a sealed chemical glove and is not rated against a chemical splash hazard or immersion. For chemical work use a chemical-resistant glove, and for hot work a welding glove. Match the glove to your measured hazard with the cut-resistant gloves complete guide.

What the Ergodyne ProFlex 7043 listing documents

From the published specs: ANSI-rated cut resistance (confirm the specific level); a gray nitrile palm coating for grip in dry and lightly oily conditions; a lightweight 13-gauge cut-resistant shell; a knitted wrist cuff; sizes Small to 2X-Large (7043-S to 7043-2XL). These are true nitrile coated work gloves and dexterous cut resistant work gloves β€” everyday proflex work gloves for general handling.

How the 7043 compares to other ProFlex gloves

Ergodyne's ProFlex hand line spans coatings and cut levels: the nitrile-coated ProFlex 7001 is a close grip-first sibling, the breathable ProFlex 7141 adds a defined A4 rating and airflow, and the ProFlex 7061 steps up to A6 for heavy metal and glass; for back-of-hand impact see the ProFlex 925F(x). The ANSI cut levels explained guide helps you place each one.

Choosing the right glove for your hazard

Coating is one axis, cut level another. For grip-first general work, browse the nitrile-coated collection and mechanics gloves β€” the mechanics gloves guide ranks them; for higher cut needs, the cut-resistant collection; and for abrasion and heat, leather work gloves. The full hand protection collection spans every category, and cross-shop alternatives like the PIP MaxiFlex Cut.

Where it fits by job and crew orders

The grip-and-cut build suits assembly, packaging, warehouse, and part handling β€” compare grip options like the Ansell HyFlex 11-518 and Mechanix Pursuit D5, and confirm the cut level to your task with the A4-vs-A5 guide. For crew orders, quantity purchasing runs through a free Amazon Business account β€” volume pricing, PO numbers at checkout, and tax-exempt eligibility for qualifying organizations, with the walkthrough linked in our footer.

Cut resistant gloves
These gloves have a cut resistant weave that is reinforced with 16% steel. The palms and fingers are lined with a nice grippy nitrile, and between the thumb and first finger is reinforced with a thicker piece of nitrile. I am a woman who has really long fingers and my hands and fingers are thin; size medium actually accommodated my long fingers and was snug like it should be... if you have thicker hands I wouldn't worry too much because they stretch nicely. These gloves kept my hands protected, but are thin so it didn't even feel like I was wearing protective gloves. One major bonus is that you can use your phone with these on.

Some poking through
These are decent quality (somewhat thin) work gloves. Do not protect from prickly plants - was having some trouble weeding as I felt these kept getting tiny pokers inside the gloves. I am a rather petite woman and these fit my hands well, with good dexterity because of the thinness. Overall a good value item but I will still use my thicker work gloves for many of my outdoor projects.

Light but mighty gloves
I have used a decent amount of work gloves in the past, and these are the first cut-resistant ones that are just as light and flexible as a typical nitrile-dipped glove. I went ahead and tested the cut resistance with a sharp kitchen knife and a box cutter, and I wasn't able to make any cuts into the fabric. I was able to use my phone's touchscreen without issue while wearing the gloves. I think these are perfect gloves for automotive work, as they will protect you from cuts while giving you the dexterity required to get the job done.I typically wear a size medium in gloves, and these are no exception. They fit perfectly on my medium-sized hands.

Flexible and touchscreen compatible
I go through a lot of gloves at work doing mostly digging activities with a shovel or pickax. These gloves are similar to what I usually buy. You can operate your touchscreen phone without removing the glove. The cut resistance protects from many sharp objects like rocks but thorns will get through. The nitrile coating will last for a while until abrasion wears it off, so it just depends on how much you are working. The coated part is waterproof but the exposed back is not. The advantage of this type of glove vs a full leather glove is the flexibility. You have much more dexterity with this glove. My hand size is borderline Medium Large. The medium is a little snug and I probably would be better off with the large.

Good light work gloves
These light work gloves are thin enough to still have dexterity and some feel but provide some protection to your hands. They're great for avoiding your hands getting snagged on sharp edges and corners and the extra thick coating of protective rubber around the webbing between your thumb and index finger is a nice feature. I usually opt for medium gloves which are a perfect tight fit and fit exactly correct for me, so the sizing seems to match standard glove sizing. Since they're on the thinner side it won't take too much to tear them up if you're overly hard on them, which is why I call them a "light" work glove. Given that, I'd also expect them to be a little less expensive for what they are so I'm dropping just one star for value for the price. Still happy overall with them.

Very nice gloves for a great value
I have been gardening in these gloves and they are perfect for this use. Usually gardening gloves with this type of coating on the insides are good for awhile until the coating starts to wear off, but these gloves are much more durable. Also I've never had gloves fit me this well. I usually wear a women's large and these mediums fit . . . well, they fit me like glove! I have better grip and more flexibility in these than other gloves I've worn. Despite how easy they are to use and to wear, the resistance to cutting and other minor gardening wounds is better than regular gardening gloves.

Gardening Gloves πŸ’―
These have been FANTASTIC and affordable gardening gloves for me.They're touch-screen compatible (just in case you really need to)Cut-resistant, so no splinters or cuts from mulching or grabbing sharp edges of containers.SNUG FIT on wrists to keep dirt out & grippy on the palm side.So far-so good in sturdiness, they claim to be machine washable, and though I haven't tried it yet, they feel well-made enough to go through a simple wash cycle, though with the rubber palm area, I wouldnt risk heat-drying.

Work gloves with good protection!
Light weight yet good protection for your hands -- I got the size medium, which I've gotten with other brands -- these fit my fingers okay but are rather tight on my palms -- wish there were more accurate sizing / descriptions to go on!

Reliable Protection
The gloves offer solid ANSI A4 cut resistance, and their 18-gauge nylon-spandex knit strikes a good balance between protection and flexibility. What stands out is the microfine nitrile coating on the palms, which delivers excellent grip on both dry and slightly oily surfaces, making tool handling much safer and more controlled. It fit my size, and the reinforced thumb saddle adds extra durability where wear is usually greatest.

Safe gloves that can be used for many tasks.
These are high quality cut-resistant gloves, that can be used for a variety of purposes. I have been using them for yardwork, and they are perfect for that. The fact that they are cut-resistant gives me peace of mind when I am using my large hedge cutters. They are quite comfortable also, and I would say they fit true to size. The grip material is impressive, and the fingertips are also compatible with smartphones. They can be hand washed, which makes for easy cleaning. The price is reasonable, and I think this is a set of gloves that will last many years. I will continue to use these.
