What the Forensics Chlorine Analyzer detects (and what it doesn’t)
It detects chlorine (Cl2) only — not O2, combustibles, CO or H2S. For the four atmospheric gases use a Forensics 4 Gas Meter; for other single toxics see the Ammonia or SO2 analyzers. For permanent Cl2 coverage of a chlorine room, use a fixed unit such as the Forensics Chlorine wall-mount detector. Bump-test with Cl2 calibration gas; the pump and probe let you survey safely from a distance.

Frequently asked questions
What does the Forensics chlorine analyzer measure?
Chlorine (Cl2) from 0-50 ppm. It does not measure O2, LEL, CO or H2S — use a 4 gas meter for those.
Does it have a pump?
Yes — a built-in pump and 4 ft probe let you survey for and sample chlorine leaks from a safe distance.
Where is a chlorine detector used?
Water and wastewater treatment, pools and aquatic facilities, chemical manufacturing, and bleach/disinfectant operations.
Is it NIST calibrated?
Yes — USA NIST-traceable calibration with certificate. Bump-test with Cl2 calibration gas and recalibrate on schedule.
Portable or fixed for chlorine?
This is the portable survey/exposure tool. For continuous room coverage use the fixed Forensics Chlorine wall-mount detector.
How is it powered?
USB-rechargeable, sized for shift-long use including pump operation.
What alarms does it have?
Audible, visual and vibration alarms trigger when Cl2 exceeds the set point.
Can it detect other gases?
No — Cl2 only. For ammonia use the Ammonia Detector; for SO2 the SO2 Analyzer.
What are the chlorine exposure limits?
Set alarms to the applicable OSHA PEL and ACGIH TLV for chlorine; chlorine is dangerous at low ppm, so low set points matter.
Is it in stock and how does it ship?
Use the Amazon buy button for current availability and delivery timing through our fulfillment partner.
Does the sensor need replacing?
Yes — electrochemical Cl2 sensors are consumables; replace per the manufacturer's schedule and verify against a known source.
Can I use it for confined-space entry?
Cl2 is one hazard; entry also needs O2, combustible and toxic testing. Use a Portable Gas Detectors 4-gas instrument for pre-entry plus this for the chlorine component.
