Ergodyne ProFlex 7501 Waterproof Winter Work Gloves, ANSI A2 Cut Overview

The Ergodyne ProFlex 7501 is a coated, waterproof winter work glove built for crews that have to keep moving when the temperature drops. It pairs a thermal-insulated liner for cold-weather warmth with a waterproof barrier and a coated palm and fingers that hold grip on wet, frozen, and slick materials. The cut-resistant liner is rated ANSI/ISEA 105 Level A2, giving you a baseline of blade and edge protection on top of the insulation and water resistance.

This is an industrial cold-weather glove, not a disposable or food-handling glove. It is sized for repeated all-day wear in outdoor construction, winter material handling, cold-storage, snow and ice work, and utility tasks where dexterity still matters. If you need a warmer-weather coated glove from the same family, compare it against the ergodyne proflex 7021 hi vis nitrile work glove, or step up the warmth with the latex-coated ergodyne proflex 7401 latex coated winter glove. To understand how the A2 rating sits on the scale, see our guide to ANSI/ISEA 105 cut levels explained and our broader range of cut-resistant gloves.

What Ergodyne Is Built For

Task Fit Buyer guidance
Winter material handling and loading Strong fit Insulation plus a coated grip palm keeps hands warm and secure on cold boxes, pallets, and steel; A2 liner covers incidental edges.
Outdoor construction in cold/wet conditions Strong fit Waterproof barrier keeps hands dry in snow, sleet, and slush while the coating maintains grip on wet tools and lumber.
Cold-storage and freezer work Good fit Thermal liner is designed for sustained cold exposure; verify against your facility's documented temperature rating before relying on it.
Snow and ice removal / utility work Good fit Coated, waterproof build sheds slush and holds grip on shovels, chains, and frozen hardware.
High-cut or blade-heavy tasks Limited fit A2 is entry-level cut protection. For sustained blade exposure, step up to an A5 or higher glove from our cut-resistant range.
Chemical or solvent handling Not recommended This is a winter cut/grip glove, not a chemical barrier; use a dedicated chemical-resistant glove instead.

Cut and impact gloves reduce injury risk but do not make a task safe. Match the ANSI/ISEA 105 cut level (A1–A9) and ANSI/ISEA 138 impact level to the real hazard, inspect each pair for wear before use, and follow your site's hand-protection program. No glove is cut-proof or puncture-proof β€” keep hands clear of moving blades and pinch points. See ANSI/ISEA 105 cut levels explained.

Pros & Cons

Pros
  • Waterproof barrier keeps hands dry in snow, sleet, and slush
  • Thermal insulation built for cold-weather and outdoor winter work
  • Coated palm and fingers hold grip on wet and frozen surfaces
  • ANSI/ISEA 105 A2 cut-resistant liner adds baseline edge protection
  • Full-coverage coated build resists abrasion during material handling
Cons
  • A2 cut rating is entry-level β€” not for sustained blade or glass work
  • Insulation reduces fine-finger dexterity versus thin uncoated liners
  • Not a chemical-resistant or food-safe glove
  • Bulkier fit than a three-season coated glove

How It Compares

Within the ProFlex coated line, the 7501 is the cold-weather option: it adds waterproofing and thermal insulation that the three-season gloves do not have. The ergodyne proflex 7021 hi vis nitrile work glove runs a higher A3 cut liner but is a lighter, non-insulated nitrile glove for warmer conditions, while the ergodyne proflex 7401 latex coated winter glove is a sibling winter glove with a latex grip coating. Choose the 7501 when you need waterproof, insulated protection with an A2 liner; if your tasks involve more blade exposure, move up the cut-resistant gloves range instead.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the Ergodyne ProFlex 7501 gloves actually waterproof?

Yes. The 7501 is built with a waterproof barrier designed to keep hands dry during snow, sleet, and wet winter material handling. It is a water-barrier glove, not a chemical-resistant glove, so it should not be used for solvent or chemical immersion.

What cut level are the ProFlex 7501 gloves rated to?

The liner is rated ANSI/ISEA 105 Level A2. That is entry-level cut protection suitable for incidental edges and general handling. For details on where A2 falls on the scale, see our guide on ANSI/ISEA 105 cut levels explained.

Are these gloves warm enough for outdoor winter work?

They are thermal-insulated specifically for cold-weather and outdoor use such as winter construction, loading, and snow work. For freezer or extreme-cold duty, confirm the glove meets your facility's documented temperature requirement before relying on it.

Can I use the 7501 for high-cut tasks like glass or blade handling?

No. At A2, the 7501 is not intended for sustained blade, glass, or sheet-metal work. For those tasks, choose an A5 or higher glove from our cut-resistant gloves collection.

Will the coated palm keep grip on wet and frozen surfaces?

Yes. The coated palm and fingers are designed to hold grip on wet, slick, and cold materials, which is the main reason crews choose a coated winter glove over a plain insulated liner.

How do the 7501 gloves compare to the ProFlex 7001?

The 7001 is an abrasion-rated, non-insulated nitrile-coated glove with an A1 liner for three-season work. The 7501 adds waterproofing, thermal insulation, and a higher A2 cut liner for cold-weather use. Pick the 7501 when warmth and water resistance matter.

Are these food-safe or medical-exam gloves?

No. The ProFlex 7501 is an industrial winter work glove. It is not a food-safe or medical-exam glove and should not be used for food handling or clinical tasks.

What sizes should I order for a team?

Order to your crew's measured hand size and allow for the bulk of the insulated liner. Use our glove size chart to confirm before placing a bulk order, since insulated gloves can fit tighter than thin uncoated styles.

How is the 7501 different from the ProFlex 7401 winter glove?

Both are insulated ProFlex winter gloves. The 7401 uses a latex grip coating, while the 7501 is a coated waterproof glove with an A2 cut liner. Compare the ergodyne proflex 7401 latex coated winter glove if you prefer a latex grip.

Does the A2 rating follow the EN 388 standard too?

ANSI/ISEA 105 and EN 388 are separate cut-test standards. The A2 figure here is the ANSI/ISEA 105 rating. To understand how the European method differs, read our EN 388 glove standard explained reference.

Can I buy these for cold-weather material handling at scale?

Yes. The 7501 is well suited to winter material-handling and loading crews. Browse our broader material-handling gloves and cut-resistant gloves collections to standardize hand protection across tasks.

Are these gloves chemical-resistant?

No. The 7501 is a winter cut-and-grip glove, not a chemical barrier. For solvent, fuel, or chemical exposure, use a dedicated chemical-resistant glove rated for that application.

It's a 3M respirator, it doesn't get much better. Sure there are other makes out there, but these are cheap enough and very comfortable. I'm always restoring one classic or another, constantly around dust or spraying automotive paint in an enclosed garage. This one is so comfy, I just leave it on all day. No more mud filled snot to blow out at the end of the day! The pink dust filters work great. The canister 3M filters specially for automotive paint, work fantastically! If you've ever sprayed cerakote, you know just how bad it is, fume wise. The 3M filters remove 99.9% of the fumes. It's hard to even tell there are fumes. 3M respirators are the only ones I use. Sure I could save a couple bucks on an off brand, but you only get one set of lungs... How valuable are a couple bucks really in the end... Not worth it, 3M for me and my kids that come to help me in the garage. If taken care of, these should last a very long time. I wouldn't put them in a sealed bag after use though.... Bacteria from your breath will breed like crazy in a sealed environment. Better to leave it out and either blow it out or wipe it out before the next use. I use alcohol wipes, works great. OH, and this seals around the biggest beard (Mines very thick and large). Glasses are basically useless unfortunately. The top head strap is thin enough to be worn under a hat without issue. Ear muffs are fine with this too. As for welding helmets, I've got a Hobart and a YesWelder helmet, although a tight fit, the mask with paint canisters fit behind the helmet.

I've worn a number of respirators but this one is the most comfortable one that I've used. Usually they are hard on the bridge of my nose but this one is made for a longer wear time and is softer on the nose. I have found it to seal very well and since it's a 3M product, it has a large number of compatible filters. I have a beard and was surprised with the good seal that I still get. My previous 3M respirator was 25 years old and I didn't realize they recommend disposing of them after 3 or 4 years. I did and this one is much better than my old one. The valves work well and it is easy to breathe while wearing and I like that the out breath is pointed downward and doesn't interfere with goggles or moisture dripping on woodworking projects. I've been a bit concerned about wood dust since reading about all the allergies that it can cause and I already have enough of those so I decided it was time to find a good comfortable respirator to wear while woodworking.

THE RESPIRATOR TO BUY-SIMPLY EXCELLANT
All parts of the mask in contact with the face are silicone rubber(unlike the cheaper 6000 series) so feels very soft and comfortable. I have a large head do i was doubting whether medium will fit me, fortunately it fits perfectly. From area between eyes to the chin the mask measures around 13cm.across from cheek to cheek around 12cm.you can use this as reference while buying (medium size) I used it with 2091series p100 particulate filter.i used it to clean an old dusty room.wore continuously without any discomfort around 2hrs. You have to buy filter catridges separately. So best to buy this 7000 series instead of the 6000 series really worth the extra price.
