Yes. The DeWalt Insulator (SKU: DPG84) meets ANSI/ISEA Z87.1 High Impact requirements, the standard required by OSHA 29 CFR 1910.133 for industrial eye protection. The Z87.1 marking appears on the frame and lens. High-impact Z87.1+ rated protectors withstand a steel ball impact at 150 fps (frame) and 102 fps (lens), far exceeding the basic impact standard.

Safety glasses protect the front and sides of the eye but leave gaps where dust, splash, or vapors can enter from above, below, or the inner corners. Safety goggles use a flexible frame that seals against the face, providing 360-degree protection around the eye socket. OSHA requires goggle-level protection for chemical splash, dust, fine particle, and optical radiation hazards where the direction of threat is not limited to the front.

The DeWalt Insulator provide wraparound protection appropriate for dust and debris. For chemical splash operations, verify that the specific model you select carries the ANSI Z87.1 D3 liquid splash designation. Direct-vented goggles are NOT suitable for chemical splash — select an indirect-vented or non-vented model for splash hazards.

The DeWalt Insulator feature a factory-applied anti-fog lens coating that significantly reduces fogging in humid, high-temperature, and perspiration-heavy environments. To maintain coating effectiveness, clean lenses with a soft cloth and mild soap — avoid abrasive cleaners or paper towels that can scratch the coating. Anti-fog coatings typically remain effective for 1–2 years with proper care.

The DeWalt Insulator are not specifically designed as OTG (Over-The-Glasses) goggles and may not comfortably accommodate prescription frames.
