Migraine sufferer's only means of survival
I'm one of the many reviewers here that don't use this for it's intended purpose of welding. I have a debilitating migraine condition where I can't be under any regular brightness situation, like outside on a sunny day or in a store with fluorescent lights. The first 6 months of my condition I wasn't able to leave my house without being blindfolded. After finding these, and switching to contacts, I'm able to live a relatively normal life. Honestly, these are the only thing keeping me functional.They are better than any alternative, the gasket seal stops nearly all light bleed around the edges. I've found no other glasses that do it this well. The included elastic strap will give me a complete seal. It let's me go skiing as well as swimming.The added bonus of them being impact rated safety glasses has saved my bacon a few times when I inevitably do something stupid.With daily wear, I find they last me about 8 months. The gasket eventually starts to fall off. I could probably glue it back on. But for the price, I just buy another pair.So how well do they work as welding glasses? I don't know. But as migraine glasses, they are unbeatable.

I bought these to address my photophobia while working in the desert where everything reflects light. Normal sunglasses weren't dark enough and I'd often get eye strain headaches after a few hours of being outside. So I decided to go beyond regular sunglasses and get welding glasses. These things are exactly what I was looking for! But I’m NOT WELDING with them. FYI, they have GREEN lens. I do a lot of oxy-acetylene torch brazing of copper and this filter is perfect. Bolle knows glasses and these are comfortable, stylish and well made. Haven’t tested the scratch resistance yet. That said, I do not recommend using these for any kind of ARC welding. These lenses are GREEN, NOT BLACK, but I LOVE them! No more Tupperware box goggles for me, thank you very much! The seller would do well to revise the description for better accuracy. If you do TORCH WORK, you’ll love these, if you ARC WELD, save your retinas and get something darker.
