Kimtech Purple nitrile gloves β€” the 5.9 mil chemo-cleared exam line

Ask anyone who has worked a lab bench: kimtech purple nitrile gloves are the purple glove β€” the Kimberly-Clark exam line whole facilities standardize on. Two specs set this KC-55080 configuration apart: a 5.9 mil wall, notably thicker than typical exam nitrile, and the line's chemo-cleared designation for chemotherapy drug handling. The full specification-based review covers performance and sizing; the exam-glove buyer's guide ranks it against the field.

Searchers hunting generic purple nitrile gloves usually mean exactly this family β€” the signature color of thick-tier nitrile examination gloves in clinical and lab exam gloves programs.

What the Kimtech Purple is for

Clinical exam work, lab benches, and the oncology-side tasks its chemo clearance exists for: infusion prep, pharmacy compounding support, drug-handling routines that specify a cleared glove. It anchors the premium end of the nitrile gloves collection; the nitrile gloves complete guide maps the family, and crews with additive sensitivities should see the accelerator-free guide. Facilities documenting glove policy under OSHA 1910.132 should file the clearance documentation with the standardization decision.

How Purple compares in the Kimtech family

The family ladders cleanly: the Sterling is the 200-count gray workhorse for volume, the Vista the value tier, and the Polaris the premium-feel line β€” our Sterling, Vista, and Polaris reviews compare them head-on. Outside the brand, the Halyard purple is the other purple lab standard β€” see the Halyard review β€” while the Curad and MedPride lines cover budget exam duty. Facilities still weighing materials can compare latex exam options like the Adenna Platinum via the nitrile vs latex guide, and general chemical work belongs to the chemical-resistant gloves collection.

Safety note: match this glove to your hazard assessment. Chemo clearance is a specific drug-handling designation β€” it is not chemical splash hazard protection for solvents or immersion work, and no exam glove carries a cut rating. Facility policy and the clearance documentation govern oncology use.

Ordering FAQ

Which size of Kimtech Purple nitrile gloves should I order?
The linked Amazon listing carries the manufacturer's size run. Exam gloves should fit snug for instrument feel β€” our full Purple review covers sizing if you sit between sizes.

Are Kimtech Purple gloves in stock and ready to ship?
This listing is active and ships through Amazon. Open the linked listing for live availability, size options, and delivery speed.

How many gloves come in a box?
100 gloves per box on this configuration (KC-55080). Case tiers, when offered, appear on the linked Amazon listing.

What does chemo-cleared mean?
The line carries the maker's clearance for use with chemotherapy drugs β€” a designation that matters in oncology pharmacy and infusion settings. Check the linked listing's documentation for the specific drug panel behind the clearance.

What does 5.9 mil mean for an exam glove?
Mil is thousandths of an inch of glove wall. At 5.9 mil the Purple line runs notably thicker than typical exam nitrile β€” more barrier margin, slightly less fingertip feel.

What settings are Kimtech Purple gloves used in?
Labs, clinics, and pharmacy settings that standardize on the purple Kimberly-Clark line β€” anywhere exam designation plus a thicker wall is the buying spec.

Are these latex-free?
Yes β€” nitrile is a synthetic rubber with no natural latex proteins, the default in latex-restricted facilities.

Why are these gloves purple?
Purple is the line's signature color within the Kimtech exam family β€” Sterling wears gray, Vista blue β€” so crews can tell lines apart at a glance. The color itself carries no rating.

Can I use Kimtech Purple gloves for general chemical work?
Chemo clearance is a specific drug-handling designation, not general chemical resistance. For solvent or immersion work, match the glove polymer to the chemical via your safety data sheets and the chemical-resistant collection.

Are Kimtech Purple gloves reusable?
No β€” they are single-use exam gloves. Change between tasks and discard at any sign of damage.

Purple, Sterling, Vista, or Polaris β€” which Kimtech line do I need?
Purple is the thick chemo-cleared lab signature; Sterling the 200-count gray workhorse; Vista the value tier; Polaris the premium feel. Our per-line reviews and the exam-glove guide compare them directly.

Where can I read an independent review before ordering?
See our full Kimtech Purple review for the performance breakdown, sizing analysis, and comparisons across the Kimtech exam family.

How do I reorder Kimtech Purple gloves later?
Reorder from this page β€” the product listing and its linked Amazon ASIN stay constant, so a repeat order takes seconds.

Wrong product sent
I ordered Kimberly Clark KC500 purple nitrile exam gloves and I received Halyard 55082 which is thinner, smaller and has misshapen fingers. The rims along the cuffs are thinner as well. I do know that Kimberly Clark kc 500 is a great glove but this is not what what this seller sent.
