Nitrile exam gloves at 200 per box β€” Kimtech Sterling

Most nitrile exam gloves ship 100 to a box; the Kimtech Sterling line ships 200. For high-volume labs, industrial quality control, and regulated environments standardized on Kimtech, that single spec halves restocking frequency and storage volume per glove β€” the reason Sterling is our editorial pick for high-consumption operations. The full review covers performance and sizing; the exam-glove buyer's guide ranks it against the field.

Buyers reach this page as kimtech sterling nitrile gloves or generic nitrile examination gloves β€” either way, the distinctive gray colorway marks the high-count workhorse of Kimtech's exam gloves family.

What the Sterling line is for

Buy it where exam gloves are consumed by the case: sample handling, QC benches, cleanroom-adjacent tasks, teaching labs. It anchors the high-count end of the nitrile gloves collection; the nitrile gloves complete guide maps the whole family, and the accelerator-free guide covers crews with nitrile-additive sensitivities. Facilities documenting PPE selection under OSHA 1910.132 should file the hazard assessment with the standardization decision.

How Sterling compares in the Kimtech family

Kimtech's exam lines ladder by role: the Vista is the value tier, the Purple the lab-signature line, and the Polaris the premium feel β€” our Vista, Purple, and Polaris reviews break each down. Outside the brand, cross-shop the Halyard purple β€” reviewed in our Halyard write-up β€” the budget Curad exam line, and the 250-count Medline Restore for count-per-box rivals. Facilities weighing lighter-duty stock can also compare the vinyl gloves collection. For sustained chemical work, leave exam gloves entirely and match polymer to chemical in the chemical-resistant gloves collection.

Safety note: match this glove to your hazard assessment. An exam-grade nitrile glove handles incidental contact β€” it is not chemical splash hazard protection for concentrated or immersion work and carries no cut rating. Engineering controls and your facility's standardization policy come first.

Ordering FAQ

Which size of Kimtech Sterling nitrile exam gloves should I order?

The linked Amazon listing carries the manufacturer's size run. Exam gloves should fit snug for instrument feel β€” our full Sterling review covers sizing in depth if you sit between sizes.

Are Kimtech Sterling gloves available and ready to ship?

WC Safety holds no inventory β€” the purchase happens on Amazon. Open the linked listing for live availability, size options, and delivery speed.

How many gloves come in a Kimtech Sterling box?

200 gloves per box β€” double the typical 100-count exam box, which is the line's main restocking advantage for high-volume operations.

What are Kimtech Sterling gloves used for?

High-volume lab work, industrial quality control, and regulated environments standardized on Kimtech β€” anywhere exam-grade nitrile gets consumed by the case.

Why does the 200-count box matter?

Restocking frequency: at high glove-change rates, 200-count boxes halve the box changes, storage volume per glove, and reorder cadence versus standard 100-count exam boxes.

Are these latex-free?

Yes β€” nitrile is a synthetic rubber with no natural latex proteins, which is why nitrile exam gloves are the default in latex-restricted facilities.

Why are Sterling gloves gray?

Gray is the Sterling line's signature colorway within the Kimtech exam family β€” Polaris, Purple, and Vista wear different colors so crews can tell lines apart at a glance. Color itself carries no performance rating.

Can I use Kimtech Sterling gloves for chemical handling?

Exam nitrile handles incidental splash, but sustained or concentrated chemical work needs a glove matched to the specific chemical β€” start from your safety data sheets and the chemical-resistant gloves collection.

Are Kimtech Sterling gloves reusable?

No β€” they are single-use exam gloves. Change them between tasks and discard at any sign of damage; that is the format's whole hygiene logic.

Sterling, Polaris, Purple, or Vista β€” which Kimtech line should I buy?

They ladder by role: Sterling is the high-count gray workhorse, Vista the value tier, Purple the lab-signature line, Polaris the premium feel. Our per-line reviews and the best nitrile exam gloves guide rank them side by side.

Can I order Kimtech Sterling in bulk for a facility?

Yes β€” order across sizes on the linked listing; the 200-count format is built for exactly that consumption pattern.

Where can I read an independent review before ordering?

See our full Kimtech Sterling review for the performance breakdown, sizing analysis, and comparisons against the rest of the Kimtech exam line.

How do I reorder Kimtech Sterling gloves later?

Reorder from this page β€” the product listing and its linked Amazon ASIN stay constant, so a repeat order takes seconds.

Which standards actually govern an exam glove?

A patient examination glove is a Class I medical device in the United States, regulated by the FDA under 21 CFR 880.6250 and requiring 510(k) clearance before sale. That is the line between a medical exam glove and an industrial-grade glove that looks identical on the shelf β€” if a box is not sold as an exam glove, it has not cleared that route, whatever its appearance.

The material specification is ASTM D3578 for rubber (latex) examination gloves, which sets dimensions, tensile strength and the acceptable quality limit for pinholes. Nitrile exam gloves fall under ASTM D6319 and vinyl under ASTM D5250, which is why the three materials are not interchangeable on paper even at the same nominal thickness.

One consequence worth knowing: the FDA banned powdered patient examination gloves in 2017, on the basis that glove powder can carry latex proteins and cause respiratory and wound complications. Any exam glove sold for medical use in the US is therefore powder-free by rule β€” so "powder free" on the box is a statement of compliance, not a premium feature.

⚠ Latex carries a genuine Type I protein allergy risk, for the wearer and for the patient. That is the reason many facilities have moved to nitrile outright. If anyone in the work area has a latex sensitivity, material choice is a safety decision rather than a preference.

Top Notch
This brand of gloves are top tier. They Do not tare easly, as a matter of fact I have used a single pair again that is how durable they are. Along with the ease of putting them on and the length, I would certainly recommend this brand to anyone. You get more than what you pay for.

Kim tech Sterling/light gray worked fine
We can't say how well these will work for longer wear. For using just a few minutes they have been fine. Purchased 2 boxes and no tears upon putting them on, (as has happened with some other brands). Will buy again, but also watching prices and discounts or specials offered among a few brands that work well, bc the price kept changing (with the other brand, not Kimtech) even as I was comparing, when I purchased these.

Nice Gloves at a Great Price
These gloves came quickly. This was a great price for 200 ct. gloves. I really like them for what the type of use I put them to. i have used other Kimberly-Clark (Halyard Health) gloves in the past. The prices on these was particularly nice. I wear and medium and ordered medium. These gloves have a good fit to my hand size. I recommend them.

Correct gloves were shipped, but gloves box was damaged.
I received the correct item: a box of 200 Large-size, Sterling model gloves. However, the containing box was somewhat damaged upon arrival. Im unsure if this was due to shipping conditions (transported in an unpadded bag) or if the box was originally damaged. The gloves look correct, though.

Great protective gloves for all-purpose use!
Although these gloves are meant for medical use, my family and I have found numerous uses for them around the house. We use them while gardening to keep our hands clean, and they are tough enough to generally avoid breaking or puncturing (although they do get a little sweaty). While doing chores, we put these gloves on to keep our hands safe from potentially harmful chemicals in the cleaning products we use!I work in the medical industry, and I definitely find myself gravitating more towards these disposable gloves over other brands. The small size is the perfect fit for both me and my family. Although they are more on the thin side, they only break down with very intense use. Each box lasts us a fairly long time, and I find myself keeping boxes in multiple parts of the house for quick access.I would definitely recommend these gloves as they are easy to use, do their job well, and have unlimited practical applications.

100 gloves. Not 1000.
1/10 boxes included. Personally if I said β€œ1000 gloves” I would at least put 500 pairs in.
