Dynarex Sterile Latex Exam Gloves Overview

Dynarex sterile latex exam gloves are powder-free examination gloves made from natural rubber latex and packaged sterile in individual pairs for tasks that need a sterile barrier — wound care, minor clinical procedures, and veterinary work. Each paired sterile latex gloves pack stays sterile until you open it, so you maintain a clean field while the remaining pairs stay sealed. Natural latex brings the elasticity and tactile sensitivity these fine procedures rely on.

This listing is the Medium box of sterile pairs (Dynarex model 2452) in a bisque tone. As powder-free sterile latex gloves, they keep cornstarch out of the wound, sample, or sterile field and reduce airborne powder that can carry latex proteins. They are exam-grade sterile examination gloves — the right choice when a task needs sterility, but not a replacement for numerically sized surgeon's gloves in major surgery.

Use Dynarex sterile gloves where a sterile field matters and a standard non-sterile box will not do. When you do not need sterility, a non-sterile box is far more economical — compare the McKesson Confiderm, Dynarex Safe-Touch, or Curad latex exam options in our latex gloves collection. If anyone nearby is latex-sensitive, switch to nitrile gloves, including a sterile nitrile pair for latex-free sterile work. These are sterile latex gloves for single use.

What Dynarex Sterile Latex Gloves Are Built For

Use case Fit Buyer guidance
Wound care and dressing changes Excellent Sterile pairs maintain a clean field; powder-free keeps cornstarch out of the wound.
Minor clinical and outpatient procedures Excellent Latex tactile feel suits fine work; open one pair at a time to preserve sterility.
Veterinary procedures and exams Good Common in vet clinics for sterile-field tasks; avoid where a latex sensitivity is known.
Latex-allergic patients or staff Avoid Use a latex-free sterile nitrile option in latex-restricted areas.
Routine non-sterile exams Overkill A non-sterile box is more economical; reserve sterile pairs for sterile-field tasks.
Major surgical procedures Not suited Use numerically sized sterile surgeon's gloves made to surgical specifications.

Safety note: these are natural rubber latex gloves. A Type I latex allergy can cause serious reactions, so never use latex on or near a latex-allergic patient or worker, and follow your facility's latex-safety policy; for latex-free sterile work choose a sterile nitrile glove. Sterility is only preserved if the package is intact and opened correctly — inspect each pair, and treat sterile gloves as single-use PPE within your procedure and infection-control program.

Pros & Cons

Pros
  • Sterile, individually paired packaging maintains a clean field
  • Powder-free — no cornstarch in the wound or sterile field
  • Natural latex tactile sensitivity for fine procedures
  • Suited to wound care, minor procedures, and veterinary work
  • Open one pair at a time so the rest stay sterile
  • Single-use; familiar Dynarex clinical brand
Cons
  • Natural latex — unsafe for latex-allergic users; choose sterile nitrile instead
  • Higher per-glove cost than non-sterile boxes — overkill for routine exams
  • Exam-grade, not a substitute for sized surgeon's gloves in major surgery
  • This listing is a single size (Medium)

Sterile vs Non-Sterile: How to Choose

The decision is simple: does the task need a sterile barrier? The table shows when to reach for sterile pairs versus an economical non-sterile box.

Option Barrier Best for
Sterile latex pairs (this glove) Sterile field Wound care, minor procedures, veterinary sterile tasks
Non-sterile latex box Clean, not sterile Routine exams and handling — more economical
Sterile nitrile pairs Sterile + latex-free Sterile field where a latex allergy is a concern

If you do not need a sterile barrier, a non-sterile box is the economical choice — see the MedPride, Dealmed, or Diamond Advance latex exam options. To weigh latex against latex-free materials, read nitrile vs latex gloves and the latex vs nitrile vs vinyl reference, or browse latex-free nitrile exam gloves.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Dynarex sterile latex exam gloves actually sterile?

Yes. Dynarex 2452 gloves are packaged sterile in individual pairs, so each pair stays sterile until you open it. That is what separates them from standard non-sterile exam gloves, and it is why they suit wound care and minor procedures that need a sterile barrier.

How are these sterile latex gloves packaged?

They are sterilely packaged in pairs, with multiple pairs to a box. You open one sealed pair at a time so the rest stay sterile, which keeps a clean field for procedures and reduces waste between patients.

Are Dynarex sterile gloves powder-free?

Yes. They are powder-free, so there is no cornstarch to contaminate a wound, sample, or sterile field, and less airborne powder that can carry latex proteins. Powder-free is the standard for sterile clinical work.

What is the difference between sterile and non-sterile exam gloves?

Sterile gloves are individually sterilized and packaged to maintain a sterile barrier for procedures like wound care and minor surgery; non-sterile exam gloves are clean but not sterilized, for routine exams and handling. Choose sterile only when the task needs a sterile field; otherwise non-sterile is more economical.

Can I use these for minor procedures and wound care?

Yes, that is their purpose: sterile-packaged exam latex for wound care, minor clinical procedures, and similar sterile-field tasks. For major surgery, use sterile surgeon's gloves, which are sized numerically and made to surgical specifications.

What size are these and how are they sold?

This listing is Medium, sold by the box of sterile pairs. Select your size in the option above if more are shown, and use our glove size chart to confirm fit, since a snug sterile glove preserves dexterity for fine procedures.

Do these gloves contain latex, and who should avoid them?

Yes, they are natural rubber latex. Anyone with an allergy or sensitivity to natural rubber should not use them and should choose a latex-free option such as nitrile exam gloves. Default to nitrile in any latex-restricted area.

Can I use these sterile latex gloves for veterinary work?

Yes. Sterile, paired exam latex is common in veterinary clinics for procedures and exams that need a sterile barrier, and the powder-free latex gives good tactile feel. As with any latex glove, avoid it where a latex sensitivity is known.

Are sterile latex gloves single-use?

Yes. Like all exam and procedure gloves they are single-use; once opened or used, discard the pair. Do not attempt to re-sterilize or reuse disposable gloves, as that defeats the sterile barrier.

Should I buy sterile or non-sterile latex exam gloves?

Buy sterile when the task requires a sterile field, such as wound care or minor procedures; buy non-sterile for routine exams and handling, where it is more economical. For non-sterile latex, see the McKesson Confiderm or Dynarex Safe-Touch in our latex gloves collection.

Are these latex-free or do you have a latex-free sterile option?

These are natural latex, not latex-free. If you need a latex-free glove, choose nitrile; for latex-free needs in a sterile field, select a sterile nitrile option from our nitrile gloves rather than this latex pair.

How do these compare to your non-sterile latex exam gloves?

The key difference is the sterile, paired packaging and the higher per-glove cost that comes with sterilization. If you do not need a sterile barrier, a non-sterile box such as the MedPride latex exam or Curad latex exam is far more economical for routine use.

The seller, Mohawk Medical Mall, sent the replacement quickly. The price is reasonable, $26.95, for 50 pairs of sterile latex gloves powder free. I am happy with the products and seller service.

You might want powder.
They are what they are. I'm allergic to latex, so I give my boyfriend a lot of space with these. He wishes that I had ordered them with powder, but it is pretty funny watching him put these on without powder, so I'm good.

comfortable and nice fitting
I thought it kind of odd that it is advertised as sterile gloves, but on the box it states otherwise. I presume it meant sterile until taken out of the individual package, but it does not say it that way on the box. Either way, I do think it is probably more sterile than most gloves labeled for examination purposes, since they come individually wrapped. They were comfortable and fit very well. I would have liked a smaller box option at a lower price point - this box will last a life-time for me. :-)
