What the Forensics Mini 4 Gas Monitor detects (and what it doesn’t)
It monitors O2, CO, H2S and combustible LEL — not VOCs, CO2 or specific toxics. For VOCs use the Forensics VOC Detector; for single toxics the Chlorine or Ammonia analyzers. It is diffusion; for remote pre-entry sampling use the Forensics 4 Gas + Pump. Compared with the 4 Gas Meter it is more compact. Bump-test before use.

Frequently asked questions
What gases does the Forensics mini 4 gas monitor measure?
O2, CO, H2S and combustible LEL — the confined-space set. For VOCs use the Forensics VOC Detector.
How is it different from the standard 4 Gas Meter?
It is more compact and USB-rechargeable; the Forensics 4 Gas Meter is the lightest standard meter. Both are NIST-calibrated.
Is it NIST calibrated?
Yes — USA NIST-traceable calibration. Bump-test before use and recalibrate on schedule.
Is it rechargeable?
Yes — USB-rechargeable, sized for a full work shift.
Can I use it for confined-space entry?
Yes for monitoring the four hazards. For pre-entry sampling, use the Forensics 4 Gas + Pump.
Does it have a pump?
No — it is diffusion. For remote sampling choose the pump model.
What alarms does it have?
Audible, visual and vibration alarms trigger when any of the four gases exceeds its set point.
What does it not detect?
VOCs, CO2 and specific toxics. For VOCs use the VOC Detector; for chlorine the Chlorine Analyzer.
Why is it rated so highly?
It pairs compact size, NIST calibration and USB charging at a low price, earning a strong 4.8-star rating.
Is it in stock and how does it ship?
Use the Amazon buy button for current availability and delivery timing through our fulfillment partner.
How long do the sensors last?
Electrochemical and catalytic sensors typically last two to three years; budget for replacement sensors and calibration gas.
Is it a good backup unit?
Yes — its compact size and low price make it a popular spare/backup 4-gas to keep in a kit or truck.
