REPLACED PREVIOUS CARBON MONOXIDE ALARMS
These alarms, whether hardwired or battery operated only, have a life expectancy for the sensor that is approximately 10 years. Once the sensor's life expectancy is reached the alarm will "chirp" and will continue to do so even after changing the battery/batteries, true for CO2 as well as smoke detectors that are hardwired but have a back up battery installed for when their is a power outage. While First Alert has both CO2 and smoke detectors in the marketplace they have different mounting brackets, and thus new holes etc would have been required. We had the Kidde models so no extra work was required, just remove the old alarm(s) and install the new on prior mounting screws!
