Georgia Boot Carbon Flex Wedge Chelsea EH work boot

A safety toe is impact and compression protection, not electrical isolation. ASTM F2413 treats them as separate ratings: only a boot carrying the EH mark is tested for secondary protection against open electrical circuits, and that protection is voided by wet soles, worn outsoles or embedded metal. Work on or near energised parts is controlled by a zero-energy state and the NFPA 70E arc-flash program first; footwear is the last layer, never the plan.

The Georgia Boot Carbon Flex Wedge is a soft-toe pull-on Chelsea built to the ASTM F2892 electrical-hazard standard, on a flat wedge outsole. Despite the "Carbon Flex" name, this is a soft-toe boot β€” it does not have a composite or carbon safety cap. The name refers to the flexible platform, not to a protective toe. It is the Georgia to buy when you want laces-free wedge comfort and EH resistance without a safety cap.

As a soft-toe boot, the Carbon Flex Wedge carries no ASTM F2413 impact rating and no steel, alloy, or composite toe. The wedge sole gives maximum contact on flat concrete, which suits shop, warehouse, and flatwork trades that do not face dropped-object hazards.

Electrical-hazard footwear is rated under two different ASTM specifications, and they are not interchangeable. ASTM F2413 EH covers safety-toe boots (steel, alloy, or composite cap) that also carry secondary electrical-hazard protection. ASTM F2892 is the parallel standard for soft-toe occupational footwear that carries the same EH resistance without an impact cap. This boot is built to the F2892 soft-toe EH standard, so it protects against incidental contact with live circuits but has no impact or compression toe rating.

Either way, an EH rating is secondary protection. It is designed to reduce the risk of a shock from incidental contact with an energized conductor of up to 600 volts under dry conditions β€” it is not primary electrical PPE and does not replace de-energizing, lockout/tagout, insulated tools, or arc-rated gear. If you need a safety cap plus EH, choose an F2413 EH boot instead; browse the electrical-hazard boots collection or the best electrical-hazard work boots guide.

Who should buy it, and how to size

The Carbon Flex Wedge fits flatwork trades, shop and warehouse crews, and drivers who want a pull-on wedge with EH protection and do not face crush or impact hazards. The wedge sole is best on smooth concrete; skip it for loose gravel or logging terrain. Order your normal size in a medium (D) width. If you run wide or add a cushioned insole, size up a half. Refresh the ride with an insole from the work boot insoles collection and pair it with cushioned work socks. Keep the leather conditioned with products from the boot care collection.

Cross-shop the other two soft-toe EH options we cover: the Georgia Romeo SuperLyte slip-on for the lightest shoe-height option, and the Ariat Longview Shock Shield for a tall waterproof boot. All three sit in the electrical-hazard boots collection.

How the Carbon Flex Wedge compares

Boot Style Toe EH standard Best for
Georgia Carbon Flex Wedge Chelsea, wedge Soft F2892 Flat concrete, pull-on
Georgia Romeo SuperLyte Romeo slip-on Soft F2892 Lightest, shoe height
Ariat Longview Shock Shield 8-in boot Soft F2892 Waterproof, ankle coverage

Choose the Carbon Flex Wedge over the Georgia Romeo SuperLyte when you want a wedge outsole and boot-height coverage rather than a low shoe. Step up to the Ariat Longview if you need waterproofing. Georgia Boot Carbon Flex Wedge Chelsea EH Work Boot (Soft Toe)

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Georgia Carbon Flex a composite toe?
No. Despite the Carbon Flex name, this is a soft-toe boot with no composite, carbon, or steel safety cap and no ASTM F2413 impact rating. The name refers to the flexible platform. For a true composite toe, see our composite toe boots collection .
What does the EH rating cover?
It is ASTM F2892 secondary protection against incidental contact with an energized conductor up to 600 volts under dry conditions. It is not primary electrical PPE.
Is the Carbon Flex Wedge waterproof?
No. For a waterproof soft-toe EH boot, look at the Ariat Longview Shock Shield .
Is a wedge sole good for my job?
A wedge outsole gives maximum contact on smooth concrete, which suits shop, warehouse, and flatwork trades. It is less suited to loose gravel or logging terrain.
What size should I order?
Order your normal size in a medium (D) width. Size up a half if you run wide or add a cushioned insole from our work boot insoles collection .
Is the Chelsea pull-on secure?
Twin-gore panels hold the boot on for standing and walking work. As with any pull-on, they give less lockdown than a laced boot for climbing tasks.
Who is this boot best for?
Flatwork trades, drivers, and shop or warehouse crews who want a pull-on wedge with EH protection and no dropped-object exposure.
How does F2892 EH differ from F2413 EH?
F2413 EH boots have a safety toe plus EH resistance; F2892 EH boots like this one have EH resistance in a soft-toe build. See our ASTM F2413 reference guide .
Can I wear these for general construction?
Only where your task assessment does not require a protective toe. Most construction roles need an F2413 safety-toe boot; read the safety-toe decision guide .
What should I pair with it?
A supportive insole from our best work boot insoles picks and cushioned work socks for concrete shifts.
How does it compare to other pull-ons?
See where it ranks against laced and pull-on options in our best pull-on work boots guide.
How do I care for the leather?
Condition it periodically with a product from our best boot care products guide to extend its life.
