Amprobe CO2-100 Handheld Carbon Dioxide Meter — CO2, Temp & Humidity
The Amprobe CO2-100 is a handheld carbon dioxide meter that also reads temperature and humidity — the portable gas detector for indoor air quality and ventilation, covering the CO2 hazard a four-gas (O2/LEL/CO/H2S) monitor doesn’t measure.

What the Amprobe CO2-100 detects (and what it doesn’t)
The CO2-100 measures carbon dioxide (CO2) plus temperature and humidity — not oxygen, combustible LEL, CO or toxics. Note CO2 is distinct from carbon monoxide (CO): for CO use a 4 gas meter or a Carbon Monoxide Alarms & Detectors alarm. It is an indoor-air-quality instrument, not an explosion-rated confined-space monitor. For VOCs use the Forensics VOC Detector. Replace batteries as needed; the NDIR sensor is long-life.

Where the Amprobe CO2-100 fits
The CO2-100 covers carbon dioxide and indoor air quality — a gap separate from the four-gas confined-space set. For O2/LEL/CO/H2S use a Forensics 4 Gas Meter; for VOCs the Forensics VOC Detector; for carbon monoxide specifically the Carbon Monoxide Alarms & Detectors range.
- Choose the Amprobe CO2-100 for CO2 and indoor air-quality/ventilation checks.
- Don’t confuse CO2 with carbon monoxide — for CO use a 4 gas meter or Carbon Monoxide Alarms & Detectors alarm.
- For VOCs, use the Forensics VOC Detector.
Frequently asked questions
What does the Amprobe CO2-100 measure?
Carbon dioxide (CO2), plus temperature and humidity. It does not measure carbon monoxide (CO), oxygen, combustibles or toxics — for those see the Gas Detectors range.
Is CO2 the same as carbon monoxide?
No — CO2 (carbon dioxide) and CO (carbon monoxide) are different gases. The CO2-100 reads CO2 for air quality; for CO hazard use a 4 gas meter or a Carbon Monoxide Alarms & Detectors alarm.
What sensor does it use?
An NDIR (infrared) CO2 sensor, which is stable and long-life compared with cheaper sensor types.
What is it used for?
Indoor air-quality and ventilation checks — schools, offices, HVAC commissioning, greenhouses and beverage CO2 awareness.
Does it measure ventilation adequacy?
Yes — rising CO2 indicates inadequate fresh-air ventilation, so the CO2-100 is commonly used to verify ventilation in occupied spaces.
Is it explosion-rated for flammable areas?
No — it is an IAQ instrument, not a confined-space or hazardous-area monitor. For flammable atmospheres use a rated Portable Gas Detectors or Fixed Gas Detection Systems instrument.
Does it also show temperature and humidity?
Yes — it reports temperature and relative humidity alongside CO2 for a fuller air-quality snapshot.
How is it powered?
It runs on batteries; keep spares for extended survey work.
Can it be used for grow rooms or breweries?
Yes — CO2 monitoring is common in greenhouses, grow rooms and beverage operations where CO2 levels need tracking.
Is it in stock and how does it ship?
Use the Amazon buy button for current availability and delivery timing through our fulfillment partner.
Does it need calibration?
NDIR CO2 sensors are stable; verify periodically against fresh outdoor air (~400 ppm) or a calibration standard per the manual.
What if I need both CO2 and the four atmospheric gases?
Carry both — the CO2-100 for CO2 and a 4 gas meter for O2/LEL/CO/H2S.
