Heavy duty nitrile gloves in hi-vis orange β€” GLOVEWORKS HD 8 mil

When the job description is "destroys gloves," the answer is wall thickness: heavy duty nitrile gloves at 8 mil, roughly double the standard industrial gauge. The GLOVEWORKS HD orange is AMMEX's version of that tier, wrapped in hi-vis orange that keeps hands visible in dark bays and makes tears impossible to miss. The full specification-based review covers how it holds up; the orange nitrile buyer's guide ranks the color class.

Searchers reach it as orange nitrile gloves, brand-exact gloveworks orange nitrile, or gauge-first 8 mil nitrile gloves β€” all pointing at the same heavy tier.

Key features

What the GLOVEWORKS HD orange is for

Suspension work, rusted fasteners, demolition bags, abrasive castings β€” anywhere glove failure is the recurring complaint. It anchors the heavy end of the nitrile gloves collection beside our trade gloves; the heavy-duty nitrile guide ranks this tier, and mechanics should also see the mechanics guide. Blade work belongs to the cut-resistant gloves collection, and employers documenting selection under OSHA 1910.132 should file the hazard assessment.

How the HD orange compares

In-brand, the GLOVEWORKS blue 5 mil covers everyday duty below this tier. In the orange class, the Ansell Microflex 93-256 (see the 93-256 review) and the Venom Steel 8 mil orange (see the Venom orange review) are the direct rivals. The heavy black-nitrile side runs through the Venom Steel 6 mil and the black nitrile guide, the nitrile gloves complete guide maps the family, the nitrile vs latex vs vinyl reference settles material questions, and chemical-specific work belongs in the chemical-resistant gloves collection.

Safety note: match this glove to your hazard assessment. An 8 mil nitrile disposable handles grime and incidental petroleum contact β€” it is not chemical splash hazard protection for immersion work, carries no cut rating, and claims no exam designation. Engineering controls come first.

Ordering FAQ

Which size of the GLOVEWORKS HD orange gloves should I order?
The linked Amazon listing carries the manufacturer's size run. Heavy 8 mil nitrile stretches less than thin disposables β€” between sizes, go up; our full review covers fit.

Are the GLOVEWORKS HD orange gloves in stock and ready to ship?
This listing is active and ships through Amazon. Open the linked listing for live availability, size options, and delivery speed.

How many gloves come in a box?
100 gloves per box on this configuration (GWON). Case tiers, when offered, appear on the linked Amazon listing.

What are heavy duty nitrile gloves for?
The disposable jobs that destroy standard gauges: wrenching on rusted hardware, demolition cleanup, heavy grime, abrasive parts. An 8 mil wall buys working time thin gloves cannot.

What does 8 mil mean in practice?
Mil is thousandths of an inch of glove wall. At 8 mil this glove carries roughly double a standard 4-5 mil industrial disposable β€” the top of the common disposable-nitrile range.

Why choose orange gloves?
Hi-vis orange keeps hands visible against dark engine bays, timber, and low-light work β€” and makes tears obvious. The color itself carries no performance rating.

Are these latex-free?
Yes β€” nitrile is a synthetic rubber with no natural latex proteins, safe for latex-sensitized crews.

Can I use the HD orange gloves with fuels and solvents?
Nitrile handles petroleum products well for incidental contact. For prolonged immersion or aggressive solvents, match the glove polymer to the specific chemical via your safety data sheets and the chemical-resistant collection.

Are the HD orange gloves reusable?
They are disposables β€” the 8 mil wall survives longer tasks, but inspect before wear and discard at any tear, thin spot, or swelling.

GLOVEWORKS HD orange or the blue 5 mil GLOVEWORKS β€” which should I buy?
Same brand, different tiers: the blue 5 mil is the everyday house glove; this orange 8 mil is the heavy tier for the jobs that tear it. Stock both if your work spans the range.

Do these have a cut rating?
No β€” thickness is not a cut rating. Blade and sharp-edge work belongs to rated cut-resistant gloves, a different family.

Where can I read an independent review before ordering?
See our full GLOVEWORKS HD orange review for the performance breakdown, sizing analysis, and comparisons against the other heavy nitrile lines we cover.

How do I reorder the GLOVEWORKS HD orange gloves later?
Reorder from this page β€” the product listing and its linked Amazon ASIN stay constant, so a repeat order takes seconds.

Fit well, hold up, excellent manual dexterity
Great gloves. We bough a case of large and a case of XL. I use the large when I want a tight fit for finer dexterity and the XL when I am more interested in comfort. These gloves are tough: they hold up and are difficult to tear. I would definitely buy them again.

Great heavy-duty nitrile jobs for more demanding tasks
These heavy‑duty gloves are my go‑to when my regular 5 mil nitrile gloves just aren’t right for the job. The extra thickness makes a big difference. They feel tougher, offer better protection, and hold up well for messier or more demanding tasks. They fit securely, don’t tear easily, and give me the confidence to tackle the jobs where lighter gloves would fail. Great to have on hand for the heavy‑duty stuff.

Best Disposable Glove Ever
These gloves are great. They don't dissolve like other thinner gloves when you sweat. I use them in the garden and can wear them for several hours. The other gloves last maybe an hour before they rip. They cost more, but they are worth it.

Tear easily
Gloves tear easily and often rip when trying to put them on. I purchased 2xxl so they wouldn’t rip while putting them on, but they are still a little small.
