Shop towels vs X70 wipers?
Blue shop towels are grab-wipe-toss for grease; X70 hydroknit is extended-use — rinse it and keep working. Most shops stock both and use each where its per-task economics win.
Are these lint-free?
Low-lint, not lint-free. Finish-critical surfaces (glass, paint prep, optics) need dedicated low-lint wipers; X70 and blue towels are for mechanical and cleanup duty.
What gloves go with solvent wiping?
Nitrile for petroleum products, chemical-resistant gloves for aggressive solvents per the SDS. The wiper takes the chemical so skin doesn't — but the glove is the actual PPE.
How do oily wipers get disposed of?
Closed metal containers — oily rags self-heat in piles, which is a fire-code answer older than OSHA. Solvent-soaked wipers may be regulated waste depending on the solvent; check local rules.
