KleenGuard 3300 Series N95 Particulate Respirator (RA3315) β€” NIOSH-Approved N95 Disposable Respirator

An air-purifying respirator filters air, it does not supply any. Under 29 CFR 1910.134 no air-purifying respirator may be worn in an atmosphere that is IDLH or oxygen-deficient (below 19.5% oxygen). Those conditions require a supplied-air respirator or an SCBA, and no filter or cartridge rating changes that.

KleenGuard 3300 Series N95 Particulate Respirator (RA3315) is KleenGuard's standard unvalved N95 respirator in the 3300 Series β€” a reliable NIOSH N95 cup-style respirator from Kimberly-Clark's safety brand for general industrial, manufacturing, and construction particulate environments.

Hazard Coverage β€” KleenGuard 3300 Series N95 Particulate Respirator (RA3315)

The KleenGuard 3300 Series N95 Particulate Respirator (RA3315) is NIOSH-approved under 42Β CFRΒ 84 SubpartΒ K for non-oil-based particulates at β‰₯95% efficiency. Approved hazards include construction and masonry dust, pollen, mold spores, smoke particulates, grain and wood dust, and certain biological aerosols. The RA3315 is NOT rated for oil-based particles β€” spray paint mist, cutting fluid aerosols, and lubricant mist degrade N-class electret media faster than rated. For oil environments choose an R95 (oil-resistant, one shift) or P100 (oil-proof). Compare classes in our N95 vs P100 guide and the complete disposable respirator guide.

Really Good Masks
These are excellent masks. They fit very well, do a great job of filtering grinding and welding fumes. The best feature is the material they've used for the retaining bands. They are not the usual rubbery material like in 3M masks, but a smooth fabric covered elastic, which is so comfortable. I will definitely buy these again, and recommend anyone looking for good, affordable masks, to get these.

Comfortable, covers face without fatigue of most masks.
Great value for the cost. Safety is key when working with grinders and other dusty jobs. These masks work great and are more comfortable than others I've tried.

Good mask, bad price increase.
Fits My big nose face, and her small featured face very well without leaks. Mild smell but it IS there. Hang it out, or blow it out with a hair dryer . Woven straps are very comfortable compared to other masks. The inner liner is ribbed and does not collapse on your face like some not molded inner liners. The nose metal strip is heavy enough to hold its shape. Keep in mind I do use a secondary contoured foam nose strip on all my masks to make a better seal, cause less nose abrasion, and counter the inevitable fatigue of the nose metal over time causing leaks on any mask. This because I use a lot of masks both at home and in my business, so these factors are unusually important for me. Unfortunately, the price has gone up again as the covid and triple viral threat whammy, and California wildfire, numbers go up. Unconscionable! Buy them on sale.

Mostly pleased
I use these when I mow. Without a mask I would have a splitting migraine for 2 days. I have a small face, but these fit. Used them during peak pollen season while I mowed. I did still get a headache, but it went away by morning & it never reached migraine level. What I don't like is how freaking hard to breath it was. Which I get! It's supposed to filter out most of everything. I haven't used heavy duty masks before so maybe this is normal. The mask did start to collapse in & out from my inhaling after 2 hours of wear. I'll still use them because the headache without is unbearable.

KleenGuard 3300 Series N95 Particulate Respirator (RA3315)

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the RA3315 NIOSH-approved?
Yes. The RA3315 is NIOSH-approved under 42 CFR 84 Subpart K as an N95 filtering facepiece respirator, confirming it filters at least 95% of airborne particles β‰₯0.3 microns. Verify the TC approval number on the NIOSH Certified Equipment List .
What does the N95 rating mean for the RA3315?
The N in N95 stands for not resistant to oil β€” the RA3315 is approved for non-oil-based particulates such as dust, pollen, mold spores, and smoke. It should not be used in environments with oil-based aerosols (spray paint mist, cutting fluid, lubricant mist). For oil environments, choose an R95 or P100 mask instead.
Can I reuse the RA3315?
Disposable N95 respirators like the RA3315 are designed for single extended use or limited reuse per OSHA guidance β€” they are not washable. Discard when the mask becomes soiled, damaged, hard to breathe through, or after use in a hazardous environment. Follow your employer's written respiratory protection program for reuse decisions.
Does the RA3315 require a fit test?
Yes. OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 requires a fit test before first use of any N95 respirator in a workplace where it provides occupational protection. Read our fit test guide for qualitative and quantitative options. The RA3315 should seal flush against your skin without gaps at the nose bridge or chin.
How do I know the RA3315 fits correctly?
Perform a user-seal check each time you don the mask: cup both hands over the mask and exhale sharply β€” if you feel air escaping at the edges, re-adjust the nose clip and re-seat the straps. Our respirator sizing guide covers fit factors by face shape. A proper seal is essential for rated N95 protection.
Is the RA3315 safe for COVID-19, smoke, or wildfire ash?
An N95 like the RA3315 filters particles at the same size range as many respiratory aerosols, smoke particulates, and wildfire ash. However, this product is an industrial respirator β€” it is not FDA-cleared as a surgical mask unless specifically noted. Check the product label for FDA clearance status if healthcare use is required.
How many RA3315 respirators come in a box?
Pack size is shown in the product title and on the box. Browse the full disposable respirator catalog for available box counts β€” options range from individual pouches to bulk industrial packs.
Can I use the RA3315 for spray painting?
No. Spray paint and primer produce oil-based aerosols that break down N95 electret filter media faster than rated. For paint booth and spray work, choose an R95 (oil-resistant) or pair an R95 or P100 with an OV/AG nuisance cartridge layer. See our full respirator guide for the right class.
What is the shelf life of the RA3315?
Most disposable N95 respirators carry a manufacturer shelf life of 5 years from the production date when stored in the original sealed packaging away from sunlight, heat, and humidity. Check the lot code and expiration date printed on the box before use.
Do I need a medical evaluation before using the RA3315 at work?
OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 requires a medical evaluation before an employee is required to wear a tight-fitting respirator at work. Employers must provide the OSHA Medical Evaluation Questionnaire (Appendix C) before fit testing. Voluntary use of filtering facepieces in non-hazardous environments has a simpler pathway β€” consult your safety officer.
What hazards does the RA3315 NOT protect against?
The RA3315 does not protect against gases, vapors, or chemical vapors β€” including carbon monoxide, solvent vapors, or ammonia. It also provides no protection against oxygen-deficient atmospheres. For those hazards, use a supplied-air respirator or a half-face/full-face respirator with the appropriate cartridge. See our disposable respirator guide for scope-of-use guidance.
How should I store unused RA3315 respirators?
Store unopened RA3315 respirators in the original sealed bag or box, in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, chemicals, and extreme temperature. Do not crush or fold the masks. Opened but unused masks can be placed in a clean paper bag in a dust-free area between uses β€” never in a pocket or toolbox where they can become contaminated or deformed.
