Allegro 9935-BLW EZ Air PAPR Blower Assembly — Replacement Motorized Blower Unit
The Allegro 9935-BLW is the motorized blower assembly for the Allegro EZ Air powered air-purifying respirator (PAPR) system. It delivers a continuous flow of NIOSH-filtered positive-pressure air to the supplied hood or helmet, eliminating the need for fit testing and negative-pressure breathing effort. The 9935-BLW is the core blower unit of the EZ Air system — it attaches to compatible Allegro PAPR hoods and filter cartridges to form a complete respiratory protection assembly. As a replacement blower component, it is ordered separately from the hood, hose, and filter. UPC: 741851993539. Shop the full powered air purifying respirators collection.

Frequently Asked Questions — Allegro 9935-BLW
What is the 9935-BLW — is it a complete PAPR system?
The 9935-BLW is the blower motor assembly only — it is not a complete PAPR system. The full Allegro EZ Air PAPR system requires the blower unit (9935-BLW), a compatible PAPR hood or helmet, a supply hose, and NIOSH-approved filter cartridges. The 9935-BLW is sold as a replacement blower for existing EZ Air systems or as the blower component when building a PAPR assembly from individual parts.
Does the Allegro EZ Air PAPR require fit testing?
No. Positive-pressure PAPRs do not require respirator fit testing under OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134. Because the blower maintains positive pressure inside the hood, air leaks outward rather than inward — contaminated air cannot enter through minor gaps the way it can with negative-pressure tight-fitting respirators. This makes the EZ Air system appropriate for workers who cannot achieve a reliable half-mask seal due to facial hair, facial features, or medical conditions.
What is the APF for the Allegro EZ Air PAPR?
The Assigned Protection Factor (APF) for the Allegro EZ Air PAPR depends on the hood or helmet used. Loose-fitting hood PAPRs (LF classification) have an APF of 25. TH3-classified tight-fitting or helmeted units have an APF of 1000. OSHA Table 1 in 29 CFR 1910.134 Appendix A defines APFs for each respirator class. For most industrial particulate applications, the LF PAPR (APF 25) provides substantially more protection than a half-mask APR (APF 10) without requiring fit testing.
What filters are compatible with the 9935-BLW blower?
The 9935-BLW blower is designed to work with Allegro EZ Air PAPR filter cartridges — both particulate and combination organic vapor/P100 filters are available in the EZ Air filter line. Always use NIOSH-approved filters with any PAPR assembly. Using non-approved or incompatible filters voids the NIOSH approval of the assembly and the OSHA compliance status of the respiratory protection program.
Can the Allegro EZ Air PAPR be used for welding?
The Allegro EZ Air PAPR system can be used for welding fume protection when equipped with the appropriate NIOSH-approved particulate filter (P100 or HEPA). For welding operations with a PAPR, you also need a compatible welding helmet or shield that integrates with the PAPR hood to provide both arc flash and UV protection. Allegro offers PAPR-compatible welding accessories. For a fully integrated welding PAPR helmet, see the
PAPR welding systems in the collection.
What OSHA standards govern PAPR use?
PAPR use is governed by OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 (Respiratory Protection) in general industry. Key requirements include: a written respiratory protection program, a medical evaluation before use, training, and proper maintenance and storage procedures. PAPRs are exempt from fit testing (29 CFR 1910.134(f)(1)(ii)(C)) but are not exempt from the medical evaluation or program requirements. Employers must also ensure the PAPR selected provides an APF adequate for the contaminant concentration present.
How long does the blower battery last on the 9935-BLW?
Run time depends on airflow speed and battery charge. Allegro EZ Air systems typically provide several hours of continuous operation at standard airflow rates. For shift-length wear, users should confirm battery run time at their operating speed and keep spare batteries or a charging solution available. The battery is part of the complete EZ Air system — refer to Allegro Industries product documentation for specific run-time data for the 9935-BLW configuration.
Is the 9935-BLW the same as the Allegro 9935 complete kit?
No. The 9935-BLW is the blower assembly component only. The Allegro 9935 series complete PAPR kits include the blower, hood, hose, and filter(s) as a packaged system. The "-BLW" suffix designates the blower-only variant. If you need a replacement blower for an existing EZ Air system, the 9935-BLW is the correct SKU. If you are building a new PAPR program from scratch, the complete kit may provide better value and ensure component compatibility.
