EDITORIAL REVIEW: 4.4/5 — WC Safety Review of the MCR BearKat BK2, the slim low-profile BearKat that sits close and won't slide.
Editorial assessment by the WC Safety Editorial Team, based on published MCR Safety specifications and category fit. We did not laboratory-test this product.

The MCR Safety BearKat BK2 is the slim, low-profile member of MCR's BearKat line — ANSI/ISEA Z87.1+ high-impact, in a lighter, more form-fitting frame that sits closer to the face and resists sliding during active work. It comes in three Duramass-coated tints — Clear, Light Blue, and I/O Mirror — trading the BK1's wide tint range for a sleeker, sportier fit at the same price.

Why the MCR BearKat BK2 wins on fit

Bulky safety glasses have a failure mode that has nothing to do with the lens: they slide down the nose, so workers push them onto their foreheads and work unprotected. The BK2 attacks that with a slim, low-profile frame — lower vertical height and a tighter wrap that sits close to the face and moves less during active work. Same BearKat wraparound, same Z87.1+ rating, sleeker silhouette. For anyone who finds standard frames too big, this is the fix. Our full BearKat BK2 review rates it 4.4/5, and the safety glasses buyer's guide covers how frame fit affects real-world protection.

Safety first: fit is protection — a glass only guards while it stays seated, so the slim frame's grip matters as much as the lens. But the BK2 is impact-and-debris protection, not a sealed goggle: it is not rated against a chemical splash hazard, fine airborne dust, or vapor, which require sealed goggles or a face shield per your hazard assessment. Note the BK2 has no anti-fog — in humid or mask-heavy work, fogging can obscure your view, so step to an anti-fog model. Choose eyewear against measured hazards using the when-do-you-need-safety-glasses guide.

What the listing documents

From the published specs: ANSI/ISEA Z87.1+ high-impact rating; a slim low-profile wraparound polycarbonate frame; Duramass hard coat (no anti-fog); three tints — Clear, Light Blue, and I/O Mirror; not OTG; base model BK210. As mcr safety bearkat eyewear, the BK2 is the fit-focused member — among slim low profile safety glasses it pairs a Z87.1+ rating with a genuinely lightweight wraparound safety glasses profile.

Choosing your BK2 variant

Three clean options: Clear from the clear-lens collection for indoor work, Light Blue for a light glare cut, and I/O Mirror for shifting light from the I/O collection. The clear-vs-smoke lens guide settles the tint call. Because the BK2 has no anti-fog, humid work is better served by the anti-fog guide and the anti-fog collection.

Where the BK2 sits in the BearKat family and MCR line

The BearKat line splits by fit and feature: the BearKat BK1 is the base economy frame with the widest tints including Amber, this BK2 is the slim low-profile option, and the BearKat BK3 adds a soft nose bridge and anti-fog on Clear and Gray. For a wider premium wraparound see the Klondike KD7; the foam-lined Swagger SR1 and economy Checklite CL1 fill out MCR's value tiers. Browse the full MCR Safety glasses collection, and the best safety glasses 2026 roundup places the line against other brands.

Where it fits by wearer and crew orders

The tighter frame suits smaller faces and active trades — the small-face guide and women's fit guide cover judging frame size, and the construction and mechanics guides rank frames by task. Where the hazard exceeds impact — splash, dust, vapor — step to a sealed goggle from the safety goggles collection or the broader eye protection collection. For crew orders, quantity purchasing runs through a free Amazon Business account — volume pricing, PO numbers at checkout, and tax-exempt eligibility for qualifying organizations, with the walkthrough linked in our footer.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My New Favorites!
Not a Vine review. The Crews BearKat Safety Glasses have quickly become my absolute favorites. The Indoor/Outdoor Clear Mirror Lens is the perfect middle ground—it’s great for moving between the garage and the driveway without feeling like things are too dark inside or too bright once you step out.The polycarbonate build feels incredibly light on the face, and the wrap-around design gives excellent protection without that bulky "goggle" feel. I can wear these for hours while working on projects or out on the trails and almost forget I have them on.If you're looking for a comfortable, versatile pair of safety glasses that look good and hold up to daily use, these are the ones.

Great as sunglasses, as well
I ordered these glasses some years ago when I was still working (now retired). I had the clear lenses with pink temples. Those particular ones weren’t offered from Amazon at the time, but I can attest to how they held up. If you have to continually put them on/take them off day in day out, after months of wear, they may crack at the nose. However, I only had one pair ever do that. I was that pleased with them that I ordered two pair with the dark lenses for use as sunglasses. They were perfect, as I wear contacts. They are fairly inexpensive and I highly recommend them.

Great
They fit small, so if you have a wide head you may need a different pair. I like them and the tint helps conceal my eyes while I’m messed up at work

Great for kids outdoors
The small frame size are a great fit for my son at baseball. The flexible frame makes for a comfortable feel. The tinted lens lets him see when the sun is in his face. Keeps the dirt out of his eyes when catching.

Dandy product, smaller size AND they exceed ANSI Z87+ (high velocity impact) standard.
My wife is "petite" and has trouble finding frames to fit. Recently she mentioned wishing that she had some sun glasses (not all that essential in the Seattle, WA area). I learned years ago that you can get quality safety glasses in clear, tinted and even bifocal lenses for a fraction of the cost of ordinary sunglasses sold in stores. Although my wife is not involved all that often in activities where IMPACT RESISTANT lenses are vital, she did wind up in an E.R. for an eye injury when she was pruning shrubs and caught a sharp branch in the eyeball. Ouch! Totally avoidable....and costly. So safety glasses, especially those that either wrap around or have side shields are always a good idea working in the yard. The product picture shows Z87 on the lens near the side corner. The actual product however is marked Z87+ (which matches the manufacturer's written Product Description). That little plus sign (+) is important, meaning that the lenses meet or exceed the NEWER ANSI standard which includes higher velocity impact resistance.Want more info? google: T37 projectile 640 fps and learn how lenses are tested to earn that little plus sign.[Can you say "hit by a stone thrown by a nearby rotary lawnmower" or "hit with a shotgun pellet" or "shot in the eye with Ralphie's Red Rider BB gun"???]The manufacturer"s Product Description indicates: "Meets military MIL-PRF-31013 clause 3.5.1.1 for high velocity impact protection and exceeds ANSI Z87+". Glasses that meet/exceed ANSI Z87+ are all I wear on the shooting range. Why wouldn't you want protection that meets/exceeds the newer improved safety standard, particularly when it is often available for no increase in cost?? Why wouldn't you also buy that for a family member?

Nice fit and love the mirrored lens
Some reviews complained on being small and with that I knew these would be a good fit for me— a petite female. It fits really well around the face, full coverage and lovely look. 10/10I bought the clear version as well.I hope these hold up well, nice price.

Flimsy feel- not as comfortable as others
These are rather flimsy- compared to the pyratex ones- but those are getting harder to get on Amazon

Quality matches price
I work indoors at night time so I like the tinted safety glasses to help keep the fluorescent lights out of my eyes. These are cheap glasses who's quality match the price point. They normally only last me about 2 weeks before they get these weird streaks through the lenses that make it hard to see. But for $2-$3 a pair i find it worth the money.
