The Lever Chain Hoist, 1 Ton 2205 LBS Capacity, 10 FT Lift Come Along, Manual Ratchet Chain is one of our picks for the hoist lineup. Everything below comes straight from the manufacturer's published listing - specs, capacities, and dimensions are theirs, not ours.

Chain hoists, lever hoists and come-alongs are rated in working load limit - the number on the housing is the ceiling, and standard rigging practice (ASME B30 series) means never lifting over people, inspecting chain and hooks before each use, and retiring anything with a stretched link or sprung latch. Tie-down straps are not lifting gear; use rated slings.

Key details, quoted from the manufacturer's published listing:

  • Large Load Capacity:This compact and lightweight lever chain hoist is built for heavy-duty tasks, featuring a robust 1Ton lift capacity, a 3M chain length, and made from high-quality alloy steel, it offers excellent impact and oxidation resistance, ensuring long-term reliability and ease of use
  • High-Quality G80 Galvanized Chain:Crafted from premium G80 galvanized manganese steel with a galvanized finish, this 3M lifting chain boasts exceptional strength and toughness. And the galvanized coating offers superior durability and protection against rust and wear, making this chain...
  • Premium Safety Brake System: This manual ratchet chain puller hoist features a high-quality dual-pawl brake design, that not only distributes the load evenly across the gears but also prevents operation when the load exceeds the rated capacity, providing superior load stability and safety
  • Smooth Operation:Efficient chain leading system of the 1 ton chain hoist enables quiet and frictionless chain guidance. The free-chain mechanism enables quick adjustments, and the load drop protection ensures safety in the free-wheeling position
  • Wide Application:The chain hoist lever hoist can be widely used for goods lifting and machinery installation, perfect for various industrial applications, such as factories, farms, piers, warehouses, etc

What to check before you buy

Working load limit and hitch type
A sling's rated capacity changes with the hitch. Vertical, choker and basket hitches all carry different ratings for the same sling - read the tag, not the catalog headline.
Sling angle
As the angle between the sling leg and the horizontal drops, tension in each leg rises sharply. A 30 degrees angle roughly doubles leg tension compared with a vertical lift.
D/d ratio
Bending a sling around a small-diameter object cuts its capacity. Manufacturers publish a D/d derating; sharp corners need softeners regardless.
Tag legibility
Under ASME B30.9 a sling with a missing or illegible identification tag is removed from service. There is no field workaround.

Frequently asked questions

Why does a sling have three different capacity numbers?

Because the hitch changes the geometry. Vertical, choker and basket hitches load the sling differently, so each has its own rated capacity on the tag.

What happens to capacity as the sling angle decreases?

Tension rises. At 60 degrees each leg carries about 1.15x the share of the load; at 45 degrees about 1.41x; at 30 degrees about 2x. Shallow angles are where rigging failures concentrate.

When must a sling be removed from service?

ASME B30.9 requires removal for a missing or illegible tag, broken or worn stitching, cuts, holes, snags, chemical or heat damage, or any distortion of fittings. Damaged slings are destroyed, not repaired.

Do slings need periodic inspection?

Yes. ASME B30.9 calls for inspection by the user before each use and a documented periodic inspection at intervals based on service severity, at least annually for normal service.

Can I use a sling around a sharp edge?

Not without protection. Corner protectors or wear pads are required; synthetic webbing in particular can be cut through under load with very little warning.

Where do the specifications on this page come from?

They are taken from the manufacturer's published listing. WC Safety does not laboratory-test products, and nothing is claimed here that the manufacturer does not state.

Does WC Safety sell this product?

No. WC Safety is an independent review site and an Amazon Associate. Purchases happen on Amazon, and we earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you.

How was the rating on this page determined?

The score shown is the live Amazon customer rating captured at the time of review. It reflects buyer feedback, not a WC Safety test result.
