ANSI Z87.1 Bifocal Frameless Polarized Scratch-Resistant
EDITORIAL REVIEW: 4.5/5 — WC Safety Review of the Crossfire ES4, a frameless Z87.1+ glass with bifocal options.
Editorial assessment by the WC Safety Editorial Team, based on published Crossfire specifications and category fit. We did not laboratory-test this product.

The Crossfire ES4 is an ANSI Z87.1+ frameless safety glass with a single wraparound polycarbonate lens for a wide, unobstructed field of view, offered in clear, smoke, mirror, and polarized tints plus bifocal reader options — impact eye protection, not a chemical-splash goggle.

Why the Crossfire ES4 opens the field with a frameless lens

A front frame boxes in the top and sides of the field of view — a nuisance on work that needs full situational awareness. The ES4 drops it: a single wraparound polycarbonate lens with no front surround for maximum peripheral view and reduced weight, with flexible rubber-tipped temples mounting straight to the lens. It carries ANSI Z87.1+ high-impact and adds an unusual range of options, including +2.0 and +2.5 bifocal readers for presbyopic workers and a polarized mirror lens. As safety glasses go, this is the frameless wide-view pick, and the best safety glasses guide and the ANSI Z87.1 guide explain the markings. It keeps the view open and reads close-up.

Safety first: the ES4 is impact eye protection — it is not a sealed barrier for a chemical splash hazard. An open frameless glass covers flying particles, not liquid splash; for chemical splash, wear D3-rated splash goggles or a face shield over your primary eyewear. The bifocal readers add magnification, not a full prescription; confirm the Z87 marking and match the lens tint to the light. See the glasses vs goggles guide for the splash decision.

What the Crossfire ES4 listing documents

From the published specs: an ANSI Z87.1+ frameless safety glass; a single wraparound polycarbonate lens with no front frame; flexible rubber-tipped temples that mount straight to the lens at the pivot points; and a wide tint range with +2.0/+2.5 bifocal reader and polarized silver-mirror options. These are true frameless safety glasses and bifocal safety glasses credentials in a z87 safety glasses frame. The Z87.1+ mark means the lens passes the high-mass and high-velocity impact tests, not just the basic drop-ball test, so it is cleared for regulated industrial and construction eye protection. Confirm the specific variant and tint on the listing before ordering.

How the Crossfire ES4 compares to other eye protection

For a wraparound with integrated side shields, the Magid Y50; for a premium anti-fog glass, the Magid Y880; for a Z87+ and ballistic glass, the Pyramex Venture II; for a ratchet-temple wraparound, the Uvex Genesis; and for a sealed splash goggle, the DeWalt DPG82 Concealer. The safety glasses buyer's guide covers the range.

Choosing the right lens and eye protection

Match the lens tint, magnification, and coating to the light and task. Browse the eye protection and anti-fog safety glasses collections; for tint choices, the clear vs smoke guide and the polarized vs non-polarized guide; and for coatings, the anti-fog guide.

Where it fits by job and crew orders

The ES4 suits construction, manufacturing, and outdoor workers who want a wide-view frameless glass, plus presbyopic workers needing bifocal readers in a safety frame — see the construction eyewear guide and the mechanics eyewear guide. The frameless build keeps weight down for all-day wear, and the bifocal versions let a worker read a tape measure or a label without swapping to separate readers. Confirm the variant on the listing and retire the glasses when the lens is scratched enough to impair vision, since damaged eyewear no longer protects as rated. Comfortable for smaller head, perfect when wearing muffs and shooting, you can wear a hat and it fits around the shades, Perfect
Great little pair of glasses .... VERY comfortable on your face, perfect my small / medium sized head. I hate those oversized glasses that you cannot wear a hat or the brim rides the top of them and does not fit right. These feel perfect when wearing and have nice thin arms on the side so when I wear my earmuffs they don't cause a gap between my head and the muffs cause they are so large and stick out far like most others.I use these when range shooting indoors and they work just fine ... I can wear my muffs, my hat fits like normal, they look great and offer the protection needed when shooting.Total win for the price!!!

Best glasses ever
These glasses simply can't be beat! They are made specifically for small face/head and they fit like no other. They don't squeeze your head excessively (causing headache), however, they aren't loose either, also they're very lightweight. I just ca g stress enough how comfortable they are. My job requires me to wear safety glasses at all times so comfort is key. I have several pair in all available colors. They also work well as sunglasses. ***they are z87 rated but if you need do heavy grinding I would recommend adding a faceshield. Safety first ***

Best Safety glasses I've ever wore
I had to review these Safety glasses because they are amazing ,I am a auto worker/factory worker and I have worn safety glasses for the last 17 years .These glasses are so light and comfortable you don't even feel them on your face, no matter how long you wear them .I found myself driving home and catching myself in the rear view mirror and noticed that they were still on my face .If you're looking for a light Comfortable pair of Safety glasses, these are the ones for you!!! they don't fog up and I love how they look like regular glasses .

Stylish and functional
I really like these. I wear them all day at work. They're comfortable, light weight, low profile, and more stylish than others that I've worn. I feel confident that I don't look like a dork in them. I would stress that these are LIGHT duty glasses. I use saws for aluminum a lot, and I have a pair of gasketed glasses for when I know there is going to be a lot of debris. I would recommend these as a basic daily driver pair of safety glasses. You won't regret it.

Comfortable, but flimsy
These are some really comfortable glasses for occasional use, unfortunately they're not the most sturdy pair of safety glasses ever. I work in a lab and used these for daily wear for about a month and a half before they fell apart. If you're going to be using them once or twice a month going to the range or maybe using them around the house, they're a good cheap buy otherwise, look elsewhere.

Great for work
I work in a factory and have to wear safety glasses 10-12 hours every day. I've been wearing many different brands for 15+ years and these are by far the best I've ever worn. They are light weight and I haven't had any fog issues. The nose piece is very comfortable and they got my large head without any pressure from the legs. I highly recommend these glasses, especially for larger heads.

Very comfy not prone to fogging up.
I've been using these safety glasses a few weeks now. They are light and very comfortable. They are sleek and do not obstruct your view. They also do not tend to fog up like other safety glasses probably due to the shape of the frames and lenses. They however do not protect your eyes as well as say the Jackson Nemsis V30 glasses. I accept the trade off because I work in hot environments and fogged up safety glasses are the most annoying thing ever. I use these for when I'm drilling into concrete and metal stud. As a construction electrician you tend to do a lot of drilling and chipping/hammering concrete in order yo run pipe. They do scratch easily like most safety glasses so be sure to keep them clean.
