Adenna Platinum Premium Latex Exam Gloves Overview

Adenna Platinum premium latex exam gloves are powder-free, 5.5-mil examination gloves made from natural rubber latex for medical, dental, and laboratory work that wants a higher-quality fit and feel. The heavier 5.5-mil build adds durability and a more substantial feel over thin economy latex, while the textured surface grips instruments and slick items. These textured latex exam gloves keep the elasticity and tactile sensitivity that make latex the benchmark for fine work.

This listing covers two sizes β€” Medium (Adenna PLT555) and Large (PLT556) β€” by the box of 100, in white. As powder-free latex exam gloves, they leave no cornstarch residue on samples or surfaces and reduce the airborne powder that can carry latex proteins. They are ambidextrous and single-use, and as 5.5 mil latex gloves they suit clinicians who want a step up from economy exam latex.

Adenna is a respected exam-glove brand, and Platinum is its premium textured line. For a value clinical glove, compare the McKesson Confiderm; for budget volume, the MedPride latex exam; and for a heavier 8-mil glove, the GripProtect Ultra. See the full range in our latex gloves collection, and if anyone nearby is latex-sensitive, switch to nitrile gloves. These white latex exam gloves and the rest of the Adenna Platinum latex gloves line stock easily for clinics and labs.

What Adenna Platinum Latex Gloves Are Built For

Use case Fit Buyer guidance
Dental and clinical exams needing grip Excellent Textured 5.5-mil latex grips instruments while keeping tactile feel.
Lab and specimen handling Excellent Powder-free keeps cornstarch out of samples; durable enough for repeat handling.
Buyers who want a premium everyday glove Excellent A step up from economy 3-4 mil latex without going to industrial weight.
Latex-allergic patients or staff Avoid Use latex-free nitrile or vinyl gloves in latex-restricted areas.
Solvent, oil, or chemical handling Limited Latex resists water-based solutions only; for chemicals use chemical-resistant gloves.
Sterile procedures Not suited These are non-sterile exam gloves; sterile work needs sterile-packed gloves.

Safety note: these are natural rubber latex gloves. A Type I latex allergy can cause serious reactions, so never use latex on or near a latex-allergic patient or worker, and follow your facility's latex-safety policy. If allergy status is unknown or anyone in the area is sensitive, default to latex-free nitrile exam gloves. Exam gloves are single-use PPE within a broader infection-control program β€” not a substitute for hand hygiene or procedure.

Pros & Cons

Pros
  • Premium 5.5-mil build β€” more durable than economy exam latex
  • Textured surface for grip on instruments and slick items
  • Powder-free β€” no cornstarch on samples or skin
  • Natural latex elasticity, fit, and tactile sensitivity
  • Two sizes (M/L), white, box of 100, ambidextrous
  • From a respected exam-glove brand

  • Non-sterile; not for sterile procedures
  • Limited chemical resistance versus nitrile for solvents and oils
  • Costs more than thin budget-volume exam latex

Latex vs Nitrile vs Vinyl: How to Choose

Exam gloves come in three materials, and the right one depends on allergy status, durability, and budget. Adenna Platinum is the premium latex pick; the table shows where each material wins.

Material Strengths Best for
Latex (Adenna Platinum, this glove) Best fit, elasticity, tactile feel Premium fine medical, dental, and lab work with no latex allergy concern
Nitrile Latex-free, puncture- and chemical-resistant Latex-allergic users, chemicals, and heavier-duty handling
Vinyl Lowest cost, latex-free Short, low-risk, light-duty tasks

If you need a latex-free option, nitrile is the closest match for fit while adding chemical and puncture resistance β€” see our best nitrile exam gloves guide. For the full breakdown, read nitrile vs latex gloves, the latex vs nitrile vs vinyl reference, and our glove thickness guide. Other latex exam options include the Dynarex Safe-Touch, Curad, Dealmed, Cardinal Positive Touch, and Diamond Advance.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes Adenna Platinum a premium latex exam glove?

The Platinum line pairs a 5.5-mil thickness with a textured surface, so you get more durability and grip than thin economy exam latex while keeping latex's signature fit and tactile feel. It is aimed at clinicians who want a higher-quality everyday glove.

How thick are Adenna Platinum latex gloves?

They are 5.5 mil, a mid-to-heavier exam weight. That adds puncture resistance and a more substantial feel versus 3-4 mil economy latex, while staying flexible enough for fine work. See our glove thickness guide to compare mil ratings.

What sizes do Adenna Platinum latex gloves come in?

This listing covers Medium (Adenna PLT555) and Large (PLT556), sold by the box of 100. Select your size above and use our glove size chart to measure, since a snug fit keeps the textured surface working for fine tasks.

Are Adenna Platinum latex gloves powder-free?

Yes. They are powder-free, so there is no cornstarch residue on samples, surfaces, or skin, and less airborne powder that can carry latex proteins. Powder-free is the clinical standard for exam latex.

Are these textured for grip?

Yes, the Platinum surface is textured, which improves grip on instruments and wet or slick items. Texture is one reason latex is favored for fine dental, clinical, and lab handling.

Do these gloves contain latex, and who should avoid them?

Yes, they are natural rubber latex. Anyone with an allergy or sensitivity to natural rubber should not use them and should choose nitrile exam gloves instead, which are latex-free. Default to nitrile in any latex-restricted area.

What is the difference between latex and nitrile exam gloves?

Latex gives the best elasticity, fit, and tactile feel for fine, short tasks; nitrile is latex-free, more puncture- and chemical-resistant, and safe for latex-allergic users. Our nitrile vs latex guide explains which to choose.

Are Adenna Platinum gloves sterile?

No. They are non-sterile examination gloves for general medical, dental, and lab handling. They are not packaged sterile and are not surgical gloves, so do not use them for sterile procedures.

What color are Adenna Platinum latex gloves?

They are white. A light natural tone is standard for exam latex and makes it easy to spot contamination or a tear. If you need a dark glove for tattoo or automotive work, consider a black option such as the Adenna Phantom.

Are Adenna Platinum latex gloves chemical-resistant?

Natural latex handles many water-based solutions and is fine for exam and lab work, but it is not a substitute for a dedicated chemical-resistant glove with solvents, oils, or harsh chemicals. For chemical splash tasks, see our chemical-resistant gloves.

Should I choose latex, nitrile, or vinyl exam gloves?

Choose latex for the best fit and feel when no one nearby is latex-sensitive; choose nitrile for latex-free durability and chemical resistance; choose vinyl for low-cost, low-risk tasks. Compare all three in our nitrile vs latex vs vinyl reference.

How does Adenna Platinum compare to your other latex exam gloves?

Platinum is a premium textured 5.5-mil exam latex. For a value clinical glove see the McKesson Confiderm, for budget volume the MedPride latex exam, and for a heavier 8-mil glove the GripProtect Ultra. Browse the latex gloves collection.

Just make sure you get the right size.
I accidentally ordered size Small which ended up to be great for my girlfriend. She switched to these ones because after she tried them she saw these were better than the other ones she would get with her hair dye package. Definitely recommend these for such applications, cleaning and similar!

Great Product
My 9 year old twins use these. One has smaller hands with slightly chubby short fingers and the other has skinny long fingers on a bigger hand.On both it fits too snugly with very slight flexibility to wiggle the thumb as it is too small in the palm area. The only improvement I would make is to have a slightly bigger size option for older kids. The sizing on these states they are meant for kids upto 10 years old. But they will not fit my kids in a year.I am thinking it will be comfortable for someone about a year or two younger. The good thing is that these gloves have not ripped when taking them off or putting them on.It also stretches a lot when putting them on and taking them off, but retracts to a fit that's too snug once they are on.

Does the job but tears easier than Dynarex
I was having trouble finding stock of my normal 5.0mil Dynarex/Tillotson Accutouch latex gloves so I tried these 5.5 mil latex gloves from Adenna.Sizing: Feels slightly larger than Dynarex XS but definitely smaller than Dynarex Small.Durability: Haven't had any rip during use but definitely ripped a few pairs putting them on and off. The palm areas to be the weakest link. For reference, I haven't had similar issues with Dynarex even though they are 0.5mil thinner.Overall: Given the current situation, I'm happy to find available stock from Adenna but I would switch back to Dynarex given the choice.

Will buy again
I really like these gloves. They are not sturdy but for little jobs they are perfect. I wear a small and the fit was spot on. Will buy again.

Why do my hands smell burnt?
These gloves are an okay thickness and go on and off easily. They seem to fit a little larger than others. But the thing I really don't like is that they make your hands smell funny after you take them off. Almost like a fire or burnt skin. Pew!
