ANSI Z87.1 anti-fog convertible ergodyne foam gasket LOKI safety glasses safety goggles
EDITORIAL REVIEW: 4.6/5 — WC Safety Review of the Ergodyne Skullerz Loki, a ballistic convertible glasses-to-goggle system.
Editorial assessment by the WC Safety Editorial Team, based on published Ergodyne specifications and category fit. We did not laboratory-test this product.

The Ergodyne Skullerz Loki is an ANSI Z87.1+ and MIL-PRF-32432 ballistic convertible eyewear system that switches between open safety glasses and a strap-and-gasket goggle configuration, with a permanent anti-fog lens — in goggle mode the foam gasket blocks dust and incidental splash, and it is impact eye protection rather than a dedicated chemical goggle.

Why the Ergodyne Skullerz Loki converts for changing hazards

Some jobs shift between open work and dusty, splash-prone conditions through a single shift, and carrying two pairs of eyewear is a hassle. The Loki solves that with a convertible system: removable rubber temple arms and an included elastic strap plus a foam gasket insert let one frame switch from open safety glasses to a sealed-gasket goggle configuration, all rated ANSI Z87.1+ and MIL-PRF-32432 ballistic Class 1, with an anti-fog lens for the goggle mode where the gasket would otherwise trap heat and fog. As safety glasses go, this is the ballistic convertible pick, and the best safety glasses guide and the ANSI Z87.1 guide explain the markings. It adapts one frame to the hazard.

Safety first: in glasses mode the Loki is open impact eye protection; in goggle mode the foam gasket blocks dust and incidental splash — but for a full chemical splash hazard confirm the D3 marking on the listing or use a dedicated D3 splash goggle, and for face-level exposure add a face shield. Neither mode replaces a sealed chemical goggle unless the listing documents the D3 rating; confirm the Z87 marking and match the lens tint to the light. See the glasses vs goggles guide.

What the Ergodyne Skullerz Loki listing documents

From the published specs: ANSI Z87.1+ and MIL-PRF-32432 ballistic Class 1 ratings; a convertible system with removable temple arms, an included elastic strap, and a foam gasket insert; a permanent anti-fog lens; and five variants across clear and smoke lenses in black and matte-gray frames plus indoor/outdoor. These are true convertible safety glasses and anti-fog safety glasses credentials in a ballistic safety glasses system. Confirm the specific variant and any D3 marking on the listing.

How the Ergodyne Skullerz Loki compares to other eye protection

For the baseline Skullerz wraparound, the Ergodyne Skullerz Odin; for an anti-fog Skullerz wraparound, the Ergodyne Skullerz Skoll; for a Z87+ and ballistic glass, the Pyramex Venture II; for a foam-lined frame between glasses and goggles, the Uvex Seismic; and for a dedicated sealed splash goggle, the DeWalt DPG82 Concealer. The eye protection buyer's guide covers the range.

Choosing the right eye protection for the hazard

Where it fits by job and crew orders

The Loki suits tactical, industrial, and construction users who move between open and dusty or splash-prone conditions and want one adaptable, ballistic-rated frame — see the construction eyewear guide and the shooting-range eyewear guide. For the anti-fog benefit that keeps the sealed goggle mode usable, the anti-fog guide explains the trade-offs. Confirm the variant and any D3 marking on the listing, and retire the eyewear when a component is worn. expected better... and better i received
UPDATE::without me even asking, and to my happy surprise, ergodyne took it upon themselves and sent me another pair. they happen to be the color i had originally wanted, so bonus. i did have to come back here and put in writing that i have been wearing the replacement pair for a few weeks now, and these do not have the issue i was having with the first pair. the anti-fog lenses are wonderful, and a welcome change from the hazy, obstructed view that most glasses of any sort give when they fog up. and being in a time where face coverings are required, which exasperates the issue, i can wear my mask properly, and comfortably while still using my eye protection without ant complications.i like the foam gasket that is included, but i haven't yet switched the ear pieces out for the goggle strap. nice that it's an option though.so, the first pair i had must have had a defect, and the company recognized that, and had enough confidence in their product to make it right. i don't find that kind of backing of goods very often.i've had these for about a week, and the anti-fog coating is already not holding up on the right side lens. this was a big part of the reason I chose to purchase these safety glasses. with having to wear a face covering while at work, it makes doing my job nearly impossible, and dangerous to be looking through foggy lenses. i got rid of the last 2 pair of safety glasses I had for that reason. after reading the description for these, and how it boasted that the anti-fog was indelible , made to last for the life of the glasses, which can handle taking a direct blast of buckshot apparently... i thought i found what i needed. i guess not. i can see fine out the one side, and a blury mess on the other. and after the first pair i ordered, which the seller didn't inform me until nearly a week after they were to have arrived that they were on back order, I ordered a second pair because I needed eye protection that would allow me to still have clear vision. well, looks like my hunt will continue on until I finally find the safety glasses that truly won't fog up on me, and last more than a week or so. i don't have money to just keep throwing away on false claims.

Overall VERY happy and a great glasses, with adjustment.
I bought this pair, the Loki, and the Valkyrie. I have a very narrow face so I had to have my optometrist adjust them for me. Now they wrap around and fit me perfectly. Also, the seal on the foam insert has a pretty decent seal against dust and air bourn particles now that it fits well. This will definitely fit a large man or someone with a fat head without any adjusting! But anyway, now that I have them adjusted I wore them the first day for 4 hours straight mowing and weed eating in the HUMID summer heat of NC and even though I was sweating a lot, they did not fog up one bit! I tried the Valkyrie's on for about an hour while weed eating and during that time I ALSO wore a full face shield with ear-pro combo. While I was wearing the face shield my breath was being trapped and causing so much humidity that the shield was fogging a little and sweat and condensation was dripping down my face and over my glasses. Even with all that, the glasses still did not fog up!The only "CON" that I could find with these glasses so far are the temple pieces behind your ears really start to hurt WHEN YOU WEAR EAR MUFF STYLE EAR PROTECTION. This is no fault of the glasses however, just something to be aware of. Just wear ear plugs instead or take off the temples and wear the strap goggle style.

Very comfortable if they're all you wear on your face
These are very comfortable using either the arms or the elastic strap. I have a clear & wide field of view. The foam cushion around the lens should help lessen any impact. The elastic strap is easy to adjust and is holding up well (elastic will degrade over time.) Two points to consider:- The description (when I purchased it) said "anti-fog". They're not anti-fog. Not even close. In moderate humidity and/or high temps, they will fog up over time.- They do not fit properly when I wear my RZ Mask. They probably won't fit when wearing respirators. They may fit when wearing cloth dust masks (I tend to not use those.) Your mileage may vary.

Not what I expected
They are comfortable and are good value for the money. But the fit for my head wasn't right and they looked a bit goofy on me. That being said they are of decent quality and the lenses offer decent vision.

Good for pandemic
I work in a medium traffic area that not everyone wears their masks properly that passes by. I see too many nostrils and there is a guy that works nearby that wears his mask like he is at a nudist colony. So, after having a pair of these as sunglasses (polorized) I figured it was a no brainer to get another pair that was clear with antifog. The strap helps a lot to keep a seal around the eyes and my vision is not impaired at all. I do some bending over and lifting so without the strap they try to fall off. The antifog holds up after the glasses are at room temperature. Going into a hot or cold room they will have moisture on the inside lense but after acclimation it isn't a problem. If the room you are in gets cold or hot there will not be any moisture. As far as comfort it does take some getting use to. The rubber padding can make marks on you if you have the strap on too tight but they are, of course, not permanent. If you use the arms they don't make the mark but the seal itsn't exactly complete either. Stay Safe! A little discomfort until you get used to it is better than getting the virus.

Meets expectations thus far.
shipped and arrived fast. Pretty comfortable so far and look good.. solidly made it seems. No issues with fogging so far but only brought them to the outdoor range. Not sure when I will take them to the indoor range where I have constant fog issues with other glasses... assume they perform well unless I update it in the coming weeks.Only issue I would say is that even though I have a large head they are a little loose. When I look/lean forward they do almost slide off which is a little annoying. I do wish some of the other lens colors came with anti fog besides just clear and smoke but oh well.

Not great ....
These safety glasses/goggles definitely aren't anti fog. They fog up easily, regardless of how tight/loose you keep the strap. The lenses also scratch easily. Since there's no adjustment points, I find them to be an uncomfortable fit.

Fully Satisfied!
I have never been happier to finally get a product that meets the description!! They came with the strap but make sure you pick the right pair that says with the strap! Fit snug and comfortable. Can’t wait to see how they work when I’m cycling this weekend doing 20plus miles a hour😎

Good protection and the convertible design is useful
The anti-fog feature works at first, but comfort could be better for long periods of wear. Overall, a decent product with a few drawbacks.

Incredibly Practical
Incredibly practical. I enjoy how tactical these look. I initially got these glasses to wear during helicopter operations for my job. I hated using the regular eye pro because once the rotor wash hit, kicking up debris and dirt and grass from the landing zone, stuff would always get into my eyes. I got these modifiable glasses because I was drawn to the rubber insert that acts as a seal for the peripherals of your eyes. Also, the ability to swap the sides with a strap made it incredibly practical for keeping these, now goggles, snug to my eyes whenever the helicopter was landing. Overall, they were really comfortable and practical. Like all glasses, they fogged up, but I have yet to find a single pair of eye pro that doesn't.
