Buy to the published rating, not the headline. Check the manufacturer's stated capacity, dimensions and materials against the job you actually do, and treat any listing that will not publish its numbers as a reason to keep looking.

- Elastic cords carry no working load limit and cannot be counted toward cargo securement. Federal cargo-securement math (aggregate WLL versus cargo weight) applies to rated straps, chain and webbing — never to bungees.
