Yes. The Ridgeline XR7 (HP76110 series) uses an ABS/PC composite shell with superior heat resistance; the cap style (HP46110 series) uses a standard ABS shell. The XR7 includes an EN 397 and EN 12492 certification; the cap style meets ANSI Z89.1. Both use 6-point ratchet suspension. The XR7 is the premium option; this cap style is the value option.

Confirm on your specific shell interior — the XR7 series is tested and marked for reverse donning; confirm if the HP46110 series carries the same marking. ANSI Z89.1 allows reverse donning only when the helmet is tested and marked for it. Wearing a non-reverse-rated helmet backwards voids the ANSI rating and OSHA compliance.

Remove the brow pad from the suspension and hand wash with mild soap and warm water. Allow to dry completely before reinstalling. Machine washing is not recommended — agitation can deform the foam. Replace when the pad no longer provides cushioning or retains moisture and odor after washing. Replacement brow pads are available from Pyramex separately.

Pyramex engineers a channel molded into the sides and back of the cap-style brim that captures rain runoff from the crown of the shell and routes it toward the back and sides, away from the face. This prevents the "waterfall" effect that occurs when rain accumulates on the crown and pours off the front brim onto the face and neck. Replace the shell every 2–5 years from date of first use, and the suspension annually. Replace immediately after any significant impact, even if no visible damage is present. UV exposure degrades ABS over time — helmets stored outdoors or in direct sun should be inspected more frequently for brittleness, crazing, or surface chalking, which indicate UV degradation.

4-point suspensions have four attachment points between the shell and the headband. 6-point suspensions add two additional contact points, distributing both the weight of the shell and impact forces across more of the head surface. The 6-point design generally provides a more stable fit, reduces the tendency for the helmet to rock on the head, and distributes impact energy over a larger area. The Pyramex SL Series uses a 4-point snap lock for a lighter, simpler alternative.

OSHA does not mandate specific hard hat colors by federal regulation. However, ANSI/ISEA A10.3 and many site safety plans use color coding systems — common conventions include white for supervisors/engineers, yellow for general laborers, blue for electricians, orange for new workers/visitors, and green for safety officers.
