It depends entirely on exposure. Boots worn daily in wet conditions need treating far more often than occasional-use boots - reapply when water stops beading.
Can I dry wet boots by the heater?
No. Direct heat drives moisture out too fast, hardening and cracking the leather and potentially damaging adhesives. Dry at room temperature with the insoles out.
What is the difference between wax and cream?
Waxes and greases give heavier water repellency and darken leather more; creams and conditioners feed the leather with less color change. Nubuck and suede need dedicated sprays.
Does waterproofing affect breathability?
