This kit protects only within limits. A P100 filter removes particulate, but it does not add oxygen and does not remove gases or vapors, so no air-purifying respirator like this one may be used in an oxygen-deficient or IDLH atmosphere β those require a supplied-air respirator or a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). It only works on a fit-tested, clean-shaven face with medical clearance under an OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 program, and using the spare SPR321 filters does not remove that requirement.
