Dispenser vs. refill SKUs — read the model number

Amazon pricing on this family moves constantly and sometimes inverts (a refill listing can price above a complete station on any given day), so compare the live prices of the station and its refill before assuming which is the better buy. A worked placement plan: three-zone fabrication shop
Say a 60-person shop has a main production floor, a welding bay, and a small packaging line with metal detection. A dispenser at the door fixes availability; a two-minute toolbox talk on roll-down insertion (and the tug-test seal check) fixes the rest. Pair the wall hardware with the training, and audit by looking at ears, not at the restocking invoice.
From NRR to real protection
One planning note worth internalizing: the NRR printed on the station is a laboratory ceiling, not a field guarantee. OSHA's own guidance derates hearing protector performance when estimating real exposure (its long-standing method subtracts 7 dB from the NRR and then halves the remainder for foam plugs worn in the field), which is why a 95 dBA process with an NRR 33 plug is not automatically a solved problem. The practical chain is: measure the zone, post it, put the right dispenser at its door, teach insertion, and re-measure workers' exposure — the dispenser is the most visible link in that chain, and this guide picks the right one for each door, but it's still one link.
