EDITORIAL REVIEW: 4.4/5 β€” WC Safety Review of the Gateway StarLite, the ultra-lightweight wraparound in several fits and tints.
Editorial assessment by the WC Safety Editorial Team, based on published Gateway Safety specifications and category fit. We did not laboratory-test this product.

The Gateway StarLite is an ultra-lightweight single-lens wraparound safety glass meeting ANSI Z87.1, offered in several styles β€” the original StarLite, the smaller-fit StarLite SM, the StarLite Squared, and the foam-padded FoamPRO β€” with clear, gray, mirror, and indoor/outdoor lens options. Its very light frame suits all-day general-industrial and occupational wear across a range of face sizes and light conditions.

Why the Gateway StarLite wins on weight and fit range

The safety glasses people wear all shift are the ones they forget they have on β€” and weight is the biggest reason a frame gets pushed up. The StarLite goes minimal: an ultra-light single-lens wraparound that sits easy on the face, offered in enough styles to fit almost anyone β€” the standard fit, a smaller SM for smaller faces, a Squared lens shape, and a foam-padded FoamPRO. Add a wide tint range and it covers a whole crew in one economical line. Our full Gateway StarLite review rates it 4.4/5, and the safety glasses buyer's guide covers how weight and fit drive all-day compliance.

Safety first: the StarLite is impact-and-debris protection, not a sealed goggle β€” even the FoamPRO's foam pad seals dust, not a chemical splash hazard, fine mist, or vapor, which require a D3-rated goggle or a face shield per your hazard assessment. Match the tint to the light too: a gray or mirror lens indoors dims your view of hazards. Choose eyewear against measured hazards with the when-do-you-need-safety-glasses guide.

What the listing documents

From the published specs: ANSI Z87.1 impact certification; an ultra-lightweight single-lens wraparound polycarbonate frame; four styles β€” original StarLite, smaller-fit StarLite SM, StarLite Squared, and foam-padded FoamPRO; clear, gray, mirror, and indoor/outdoor lens options with anti-fog on some variants. As gateway safety glasses go, the StarLite is the featherweight member β€” a genuine ultra lightweight safety glasses build and a true wraparound safety glasses in many fits.

Choosing your StarLite style and lens

Pick the fit then the lens: the standard StarLite or smaller SM for face size, the Squared for a different lens shape, or the FoamPRO for a dust-cushioning pad. Match the tint to the light β€” Clear from the clear-lens collection for indoor work, gray or mirror for outdoor glare, and Indoor/Outdoor for shifting light from the I/O collection. The clear-vs-smoke lens guide settles the outdoor call, the anti-fog variants pair with the anti-fog collection, and the FoamPRO compares in the foam-lined collection.

Where the StarLite sits, and other options

The StarLite is Gateway's ultra-light economy platform; for a step up in industrial durability, the best safety glasses 2026 roundup compares premium lines like 3M, Uvex, and MCR Safety, and the eye protection collection covers the full category.

Where it fits by job and crew orders

The featherweight fit suits assembly, general industry, and long-shift trades β€” the manufacturing, mechanics, and construction guides rank frames by task, and smaller-faced wearers should check the small-face guide and women's fit guide since the SM style targets smaller faces. Where the hazard exceeds impact β€” splash, dust, vapor β€” step to a sealed goggle from the safety goggles collection. For crew orders, quantity purchasing runs through a free Amazon Business account β€” volume pricing, PO numbers at checkout, and tax-exempt eligibility for qualifying organizations, with the walkthrough linked in our footer.

Safety glasses
I love the safety glasses. They fit my face better than any other pair. I recommend them for anyone to use.

WOW these are solid eye covers!
I work as a MT in the semi conductor industry. The work requires a lot of physical and technical activities. I had issues with my eyes straining after 12 hour shifts working on computers and the facilities lighting due to my eyes sensitivity to bright lights.Anyways I was not getting good results using my companies safety glasses so I looked elsewhere and found these little treasures on Amazon! First of all if you have eye issues caused by lighting or anything then these are a phenomenal choice people, the lenses really help with bright lights, also the vision is a light red so the lighting changes a lot overall. My issue with my companies darker sunglass type safety glasses was the lighting being poor when doing technical work or physically inside machines looking at parts to fix or adjust, also during longer shift it would tend to make me tired when dealing with downtime. These glasses are wonderful because they give off the same effect as the darker sunglasses would for lighting and your eyes but the redish vision also helps with clarity so your able to work normally without any hindrances to your vision but also have visual clarity that will allows for more precise work that's more hands on and needs better lighting without straining your eyes.Overall 9/10 id give it a 10 but thr one issue I have is very minor is when using defog wipes in a clean room type enviroment the lenses tend to get scratchy looking and don't go away after drying, however I found that after defogging, using the sanitizing wipes for cleaning the glasses prior/afterwards removes these weird scratch marks and clears the lenses for the time being used for work until defog wipes are used again. Can't go wrong with these and on top of all the benifits for your eyes, they look amazing and I plan on buying another box of the yellow ones too!

My Go-To Sunglasses!
There was a time when I only wore expensive sunglasses, you know, the one's with the "O"... Well after having a couple of frames crack on me and losing a few pair, I decided to rethink the whole idea of wearing these overpriced status symbols. Years ago, my boss bought a box of these to wear at work and since then I've been hooked. They are very lightweight, comfortable, provide a comparable UV protection rating to the expensive glasses and if you lose a pair of these; NO BIG DEAL!!

Very good
I use these for work and they're great. They are good against the sun and feel great on face, comfortable. They look sporty as well for safety glasses.

Great outdoor glasses
I love the tint of these safety glasses. I use them for sunglasses riding my bicycle. They are perfect on sunny days, but also allow me to see in the shaded areas well into the evening. Also great for yard work like trimming grass.

Great safety glasses
These safety glasses are great. Their so light on your face and comfortable. The only thing wrong is you have to be careful and not drop them. When they land on the lens, they scratch real easy and its usually right in the line of sight so you might as well grab another pair. But for the price, who cares. I'll keep buying them

They last a good 6 to 12 months each
For the price, I treat these as 'throw away' sunglasses. They last a good 6 to 12 months each, at least, which is just as long or longer as other actual sunglasses I have purchased. Besides being sunglasses, your eyes are also protected if you do any trail riding with horses, mountain biking, trail running, etc. Even if you don't buy the box of 10 or 20, you should give one pair a try. They are not as dark as some, but they do a great job for me even when I'm wearing my contacts, which increase sunlight sensitivity.

Satisfied
As an end-user, I can only trust that these block UVA and UVB light as described, and are also impact resistant as described.I choose to trust these and with that in mind, I am very satisfied with my purchase. Good styling, lightweight and reasonably priced.Shipping was fast.My only complaint, if it were even qualifiable as such, is that the tinting is not quite as dark as I like. Compared to my previous outdoor safety glasses, these are notably lighter in their tinting. At first I found it objectionable, but within a few days I don't even notice it anymore. Then the less I suspect for my purposes darker would be better, regardless of the UV filtering capability.Perhaps this brand sells the same product but with a darker tint? I didn't research that, but if they do, I would buy those next time for outdoor work in direct sunlight. For shaded outdoor work or bright indoor work, these are quite suitable.
